You are on Page 207
A new paintbrush that is here at last
A long wait for the voting finally past
But who is the winner which one will it be
Stick around, they say, then you will see
Tartan, maybe that one will win
But people say its down in the bin
Though there are others who disagree
I've heard rumours that there'll be a fee
Mystery Island, could that be the one?
Who knows, maybe it will be fun
Maybe your Pet will learn to dance
The hula, and she's out to prance
Baby, now what could be cuter?
With a dummy, maybe that could suit her
But with diaper on, maybe not
And having to sleep in a cot
Now I think you've had your turn to wait
Shall I tell you over a silver plate
So here it comes into your ear
Though telling you gives me great fear
Baby has won! Hurray to you all!
Will it be out by, maybe next fall
Or maybe sooner? Please say yes!
Because I want it bad, I must confess
Gallery of Evil
Beyond the rainbow pool of light
Beneath the towns and rolling meadows
There is a realm of lurking shadows,
A world of demons and of fright
Beware, my children, beware...
With noxious breath few can withstand,
The Lava Ghoul swoops down from great height;
Then Meuka, all slime and jaws of might,
Devours all that comes to hand
Take care, my children, take care...
The Spider Grundo in his lair
Jelly Chia, mad creation,
Both with utmost dedication
To catch their victims unaware
Don't dare, my children, don't dare...
They steal all items close at hand,
The Pant Devil and his icy kin.
With fiendish glee, they revel in
The shrieks of loss across the land
Take care, my children, take care...
The Rock Beast sleeps beneath the sands
The Monoceraptor in Tyrannia's abyss;
In darkness deep, they still exist
Should they return to scourge the lands
Prepare, my children, prepare
Two mighty roars that shake the earth -
The Monocerous finds much to eat,
To the Ghost Lupe, revenge is sweet;
So give both creature widest berth
Take care, my children, take care...
The worst of all these with mad ambition,
Dr. Sloth, who desires the land
With Grundo armies at his command
And if his dark schemes come to fruition
Despair, my children, despair...
Around the Ball
I started up on a tall, cold mountain,
Ice and snow covered the ground,
Yuletide greetings at every glance,
I had to move on, continue around.
Over the river I find a jungle,
Ancient carvings, stones and rocks,
Dinosaurs tower over all who see them,
"Ugga Ugga Roo" is how everyone talks.
Jumping into space, I come to a station,
Aliens, monsters, wherever I look,
Virtual reality, pets that seem cruel,
I feel when I leave that I'm off the hook.
What comes next is a mystery,
A secluded island of fantastical fruit,
Then is another island where pirates go,
If you're not careful they'll steal your loot.
Now I feel as though I float on a cloud,
Winged creatures everywhere do fly
I hear they can grant all of your wishes,
How they can, I wonder why.
A sudden change, I walk in a prairie,
Sweating under the extreme heat,
Pyramids and Egyptian Pets roam,
And the sand burns under my feet.
My final destination is a scary place,
Where trees have eyes and witches call,
I run away from the evil that lurks,
And end my trip around the Neopets' ball.
The Greatest Victory
What comes to mind when
You read the above phrase?
When wars are over or victory days?
While it's true that those things are truly great,
The greatest victory of all is to dominate.
This is not to suggest that
You should cruelly oppress,
It is merely that
You should make great progress.
Only by battling merely against you,
Will you realise the words of this poem to be true.
Competition can motivate and provide fun,
But of all possible opponents
There is really just one.
It's not about being the best of the best,
For winning a victory inside is the true test.
Look back in your past, dig deep as you know,
For you my friend, are your own best foe.
You may never live to see your name at the top,
But that certainly doesn't
Serve to make you a flop.
Have you improved at playing the game?
Or on the message board made yourself a name?
Did you have an article in the Neopian Times?
Win the poetry contest
By composing some rhymes?
Do you now have a trophy
Where there was none?
Or simply learned how to have fun?
Has your Pet eaten some gourmet food?
Or did you buy it a toy to brighten its mood?
Now you may be thinking
That these things are so small,
How could they possibly be victories at all?
But if you can recognize these victories as such,
Then this poem has truly accomplished so much.
It's not whether you can beat them all,
Rather it's being proud enough to stand tall.
To look everyone in the eye and be able to say,
I won a great personal victory today.
Now there's a new brush
That's an age-defying blush.
It goes less than forever
And farther than three.
It tuns your Pet into a baby.
Now the Chia has no hair.
The Skeith has tiny wings.
The Tonu is now hornless.
The Techo is no longer dark green.
But what does this mean to an owner like me?
I lose 300,000 at Fyora's shop.
My grown Neopet is now one.
Now I must change diapers and
Clean little mouths.
Now I buy GaGa Grub to stock the Neohome.
I spoke to myself and asked
"How does a Neopet battle at such a young age?"
Then I remembered a slight advantage
But could it do much damage?
"No," I thought, "He's too small."
Babies may be cute.
They may be cuddly.
The responsibilites are large.
The worries are wide.
The baby paintbrush will surely change your life.
