How to train your pet

My pets are pretty, quite a sight
but they are weak, they cannot fight
and if they fight, they often lose
I cheer them on, but it's no use.

I want to train, get big and strong
it takes forever, it takes too long
So I bought neggs, for my pets to eat
but its expensive, feels like a cheat.

Since I am poor, I try my best
Got kitchen quests, but it's a test
I get neopoints, but nothing more
so I ask the chef, "what is this for?"

The faeries are kind, they help me some
but they are shy, so they rarely come
I buy bottled faeries, it is quite cheap
but then I get poor, my pockets aint deep.

So then I wonder, should I train at all?
battling is hard, is it really my call?
My pets they answer, and they are set
Patience is how to train your pet.

Summer in Neopia

Shimmer, simmer, summer sun,
When winter fades to gold.
There the blossoms hide no more,
As flowers bright unfold.

Neopia, in summer’s sheen,
The light from brilliant rays.
Doth filter through the drifting clouds,
To light the merry days.

The Money Tree, such emerald sheen,
The boughs with joy do dance.
Treasures flood the grass below,
Should one drift past and glance.

Between the sheen of meadows spread,
Roo Island, ‘cross the blue.
A rainbow bridge that links the realms,
Where colours bright shine through.

Terror Mountain comes to life,
As ridged ice melts fast.
Drifting cold can now be stood,
As skaters laugh, dance past.

Concerts will grace the plateau,
Tyrannia at play.
Music lilts to eager souls,
Embrace the longer day.

Neopia in summer’s sun,
Viridian, grass glows.
Farewell the chill of haunting breeze,
The roar of swirling snows.

The flags of kingdoms dance in breeze,
In Meridell, walls gleam.
Across the pastures turrets shine,
The view a flawless dream.

Brightvale’s castle stands aloft,
It’s windows meet the sun.
Forth through meadow, cobalt stream,
Like music doth it run.

Neopia does come to life,
In light that rays do throw.
The realm, rejoice, throw off the chill,
And bask in golden glow.

The End of Relaxing

As the month of Relaxing comes to a fold,
Let’s look back and consider what we’ve learned.
First off, the Cup, that battle for gold,
The very best players one team discerned.

What of the days dedicated to pets?
We’ve had Jubjubs, the fluffballs, in 8-bit now,
Great fun to play games with, but let’s
Not mistake them for Yooyus, we will not allow.

A week or so later, we had a day for the Quiggles,
Those amphibious pets in wraith were found,
With jagged black swirls and purple squiggles,
We rushed to adopt and paint one from the pound.

Then came the Nimmos, another frog-like friend.
Is splashing in pools a problem for a sponge?
For the bored porous Nimmo is at a loose end,
And just can’t resist taking the plunge.

Finally the Kau, with a smile that smirks,
Sneaks around with stealth and bright blue eyes.
While its transparent friend quietly lurks,
With no eyeballs, and with visible insides.

That’s it for the pets, but what of us?
We’re what the month of Relaxing is for,
Hard workings Neopians never make a fuss,
But now it’s time for Swimming galore!

Poetry Contest Joy

I love this contest most of all!
I thought I'd write this ode
About the poems published here
That sparkled, moved and flowed.

Some gleamed with words so sinister,
I shuddered with delight.
They filled me with delicious fear.
They filled me with such fright.

The other poems shimmered with
Such lovely imagery.
They glittered with such pretty words,
So bright and fancy-free.

Some poems were about our pets.
The others were about
Our favorite Neo holidays
That make us cheer and shout.

A few were all about the ways
We pamper our dear pets.
We buy them wearables and foods
Without any regrets.

The games, of course, were mentioned here.
We wrote about our faves.
We wrote about the avvie scores
That made us fret and rave.

So here's to future published poems!
They're bound to be quite great!
A brand new year of lovely rhymes
That we should celebrate!

The Petpet Puddle

While touring Faerieland it is imperative
That one take time to appreciate its heritage,
Its wondrous landscape,
Its history of heartaches,
All its positives and negatives.

One thing you must certainly do,
Is take a look at the Rainbow Pool,
Where a beautiful Faerie,
Happy and care-free
Guards a lake of dazzling rainbow hues.

Yet beside the main attraction lies a puddle,
With water just as sparkling and as colourful,
And as you approach,
Tiny pet pets encroach
Upon you for tickling and cuddles!

For this is a place where the pet pets come
For frolicking and freedom, revelry and fun,
The pool is full of magic
Which can change them something dramatic,
Under the summer Faerieland sun.

So if your pet pet is longing for a new look,
Take them down to this babbling brook,
Where the beautiful Faerie
Will set the rainbows free,
She’ll be sure to make them look cute!

Stalking of the beast

I turn my head,
there was no one there
Yet ominous sounds
echo from dead 

Snapping and stretching
like links in a chain
sounds illuminating
the darkness of the cave

Companions are absent
from this distant crawl
Only fear keeps close
and the presence of the beast

Silently I gaze into the night
Silently it stalks in my space
A snap, a shout, it screams
I run from Tyrannia's beast
