Spring!

Strutting through Neopia
You may just come by
The Petpet Puddle
Where you may just get wet
By falling in
Or perhaps on purpose
take a swim
But I would recommend
Letting your petpet in
Or so that’s what I have been told
That’s what the rave has been

I’m so poor
My socks are holy
And my baby appearance
Is looking dirty
I wear old rags
And spend most my time
Wishfully waiting
By the money tree

Not today, today I sing
For today I saw
Something gleam
It was green and shiny
Floral dressings
This petpet paint brush
Looked like a real blessing

It sat there by my feet
I swear I almost screamed
I picked it up 
And with a jump
I yelled out loud 
“Here I come!!”

I ran to the puddle
filled with excitment
but then realized that I 
Had nothing to color at all
No Triffin, no Pawkeet
No pet to make pretty

I ogled the paintbrush 
Which might seem like a pitty
But it’s just so pretty
I don’t really mind!
I think I will name it
I will name it “Spring” on this spring day
Yeah, just looking will be fine.

I must admit, I'm biased by
The shade of lovely blue
That marks this dazzling pair of wings.
It is a splendid hue!

A frame of furry brown from which
The wings unfold, extend
Supports two wings of feathered ilk
That open and unbend!

I'll buy my pet a pair one day.
She's eager for the time
I'll finally have enough np
To buy such wings sublime!

The Altalaphus Wings of blue,
How lovely you do look!
About your endless beauty, I
Could surely write a book!

Petpet Cannonball

Ten lives ye get to test yer skill.
Don’t miss, yer lives will go downhill.

Snowbunny, Angelpuss, Faellie, they weigh more.
Ye get them in, ye get a higher score.

Babaa, Slorg, Buzzer, they be the little runts.
Miss them unless yer lives is close to one.

Lo and behold, there be one more Petpet.
The bonus, Tenna, an important asset.

Lighter than two, but gives the most points.
Miss this little lad, yer a big disappoint. 

Pass all eight levels, there be booty for the taking.
Captain Pucebeard's word, Petpets weren't harmed in the making.

The Prospect of Zany Zapped Petpets

When you're using the Lab Ray,
One lucky zap might make your day.
It's not just for your Neopet—
Petpets will also benefit!

Some weird zaps have not been seen
Anywhere else. These cool beings
Are exclusive to the ray.
They're rare and unique, I'll say!

Would you like a Tanamurx?
What? The pink hue doesn't work?
How about this Jelly friend?
She will please you to no end!

Again, you don't like that petpet?
Well, my pal, I'm not done yet!
How about this Snauberack?
He can sniff out any snack!

Oh, you think he's very sweet?
Hopefully you'll get a treat
From the quirky, odd Lab Ray.
That map was a small price to pay!

Let's hope for something good!
Oh, my gosh! A PILE OF SOOT?!
I guess luck wasn't in our favor.
I wanted a chocolate flavor.

Game Time for Petpets

Petpets sound great
If only t’were true.
The truth is these creatures
Are here to test you.

Being their sitter
Will make you go mad,
And if you feed Florg
You’ll almost feel sad.

Give meepits their juice
A gallon or two
Hit them with a feepit
(They frustrate me, too).

Herd those petpets
And oh so much more
But rescuing them all
Is too much of a chore.

I’ll end where I started
To say what I meant.
If petpets annoy you,
It’s time quite well spent.

I’ll Take a Spooky Petpet!

You’ll see them when the day is young,
Lined up once they’re allowed.
In Faerieland and Terror Mount,
Near Petpet shops, they crowd.

“I’ll take a Floud!” You hear the cry,
“I’ll take Kadoaties, please!
They’ll cuddle Snowickles with glee,
Each Seti will they squeeze.

Not I, I’ll tell you that right now.
I wander where none tread.
To Haunted Woods when darkness falls,
I walk the path most dread.

There I find the friends I seek,
In petpet store so dark.
I’ll wander in, hopes all up high,
As on quest I embark.

Will Meepit be the friend I seek?
With staring eyes, so bright?
Or would three heads of Bearog chum,
Keep beasts away at night?

A Gnar, I think? (And what a grin!)
Such charm doth petpet cast!
And yet I melt as Sludgy pal,
Goes slowly sliming past.

I think a Ghostkerchief, perhaps,
Would be companion, true.
Handy, staying off the ground,
(For runny noses, too!)

Meowclops seems a merry choice,
(One eye? That sure beats two!)
A Goulblee though, he’s rather sweet,
Such choices here, who knew?

So keep the petpets you adore,
The fluffy and the sweet.
You’ll find me seeking things with fangs,
And claws on petpet feet.

Spooky petpets, they might be,
“They’re creepy!” Some will say.
But haunting friends stay by my side,
And keep the beasts away!

A Symol's Best Friend

This day she walks along a path
That curves into a bend,
In expectation of a visit
With a very special friend.

And when at last she reaches
Her intended destination,
She hides behind a tree
To watch the dinner preparation.

Oblivious to company
And intent upon his goal,
A portly little Symol
Emerges from his hole.

He need not wander far
To find a wild strawberry patch,
Searches for the choicest
And then gathers up a batch.

And when he has a basketful
And he is satisfied,
He hurries to his burrow
And quickly darts inside.

Every day, this tiny Petpet
Repeats the ceremony
As his unseen guardian watches 
From behind the willow tree.

For this kind and gentle Faerie
Cares for creatures big and small,
And provides her aid and comfort
As protector of them all.

My favorite Petpets

For years we've had Petpets
of all shapes and sizes.
Some can be bought
others are prizes.

But with so many out there
it's hard to pick one
and with colors and designs
that range from spooky to fun.

But some of my favorites
are easy to see.
I like Grembles, for example
before made into Edible Plushie.

Petpets from Altador are wonderful
like Minitheus or Hydruplit too
and like most others, my favorite there
is the all-classic Yooyu.

I have a soft spot 
for Mutant petpets as well
Like Snowickles are adorable
and so are Quetzal

But those are some of my favorites
but I appreciate all Petpets
there's a type out there for everyone
so pick one to get.

In Grave Danger (A Petpet's Quest)

Into Neovia’s catacombs
Does the young Quetzal peer.
Spooks and scares galore await
And fill his eyes with fear.

But his Draik owner gives a friendly nudge,
And a reassuring word
Is all the Quetzal needs to find
New bravery and resolve stirred.

Into the dark he slithers off
Past levels one and two.
He skips the next, though, when he finds
A Meepit seminar to pass through.

He trundles through the crumbling webs
That forgotten Spyders spun
And stops to gnaw a discarded shoe
For five minutes of fun.

In level six he leaves a trail
Of glowing ectoplasm.
Level eight he gnaws a grimoire
And jumps across a chasm.

A zombie appears on level ten
And drives him on quite the chase - 
He’s distracted just two corridors later
When he knocks over a cursed vase.

He gnaws a giant gelatinous cube
Which proceeds to gnaw him back -
Thankfully it spits him out
When he proves a tasteless snack.

The jelly-laced Quetzal descends once more
In search of things to chew
The smell of baked goods leads him down
Past at least three hungry grues.

Something smells delicious, though, 
To which this Quetzal’s drawn.
He stops to lick a paint brush on the ground
Then blechs and carries on.

On level twenty he finds the source – 
An evil cult’s party!
He spends the hour getting cuddles
And sipping delicious tea.

This Quetzal quests for treasure, though
And so he forges on
Down teetering stairs and swirling darkness
Where endless nightmares spawn.

He stops to rest on twenty-five
And ends up making friends
With a giant Globilol and its
Huge plushie collection.

It then leads the Quetzal to a room
And solemnly departs
Leaving the young Petpet to stare
At priceless works of art.

This chamber shines and sparkles bright
Even through the catacombs’ gloom.
There are potion bottles, gleaming swords
Magic hats and magic brooms.

He noses a Rod of Ultranova
And squeezes through polished greaves,
But none of them taste like anything,
So the Quetzal promptly leaves.

He finds another questing Petpet
On level thirty-four;
He and the Angelpuss pause their quests
For a quick game of tug-of-war.

The other Petpet takes their rope
(A Yellow Sticky Hand.)
The Quetzal might have had a chance
Had he limbs on which to stand.

The two part ways; her up, him down
To depths yet untraversed
A sheepish dragon sends him off
With a sneezing fiery burst.

But at long last, on level forty
Does the Quetzal find his prize.
He stares transfixed at his majestic treasure
With wonder in his eyes.

The ascent back home is long and hard,
For any stair can be tumbled down,
But climbing back up without legs
Is a task of slightly more renown.

Covered in slime, the Quetzal finally surfaces
Where his expectant owner waits,
And proudly presents his treasure found –
A Cherry Bundt Cake.

A Petpet Anthem

There is a poem I'd like to share,
It's one that I've written with care.
It's about many different kinds of pet,
So many that you just can't forget.

From Airax to Acko to Alkenore,
Swabby to Symol and so many more.
Delfin and Djuti are both so pretty,
Or a Kadoatie is such a sweet kitty.

Maybe a Gallion is more your style,
Or a Gangee with big eyes that do beguile.
From Mazzew to Meepit to Mibblie,
Meowclops and Melton and little Mimbi.

Some folks cover their pets with paint,
A pretty dye job makes them so quaint.
Which fancy paint brush will you choose?
Island or Maraqua, or reds and blues?

If there is just one thing that I know for sure,
It's that choosing a petpet is never a bore.
So make your selection and choose with care,
And together, there will be adventures to share!
