Hello there, Little Gnorbu
Oh, how do you do?
It's been quite a long year
And my! how you grew.

Shall we go down to market
For some Soup Faerie's brew?
Or visit at the Temple
Back home in Shenkuu?

But first we must stop by
The barber's at two
To make your appointment
And shear your hairdo!

The rest of the day, though,
That's all up to you
For it's all in honor
Of you, Little Gnorbu!

A Conversation with my Gnorbu

Alas, my friend, you know it’s time
For your yearly haircut, so get in line!
The other Gnorbu have conceded
That a good shearing is what’s needed!

I think not, it’s cold outside;
You know the chill I can’t abide!
My coat is cozy and fluffy too;
I’ve sworn a trimming to eschew.

But then, in Spring when flowers bloom
That heavy coat is hard to groom;
Your mane will mat and you’ll deplore
Your tousled, tangled pompadour!

Oh very well, I’ll be a sport;
I see the logic you purport;
I’ll gladly forego the fuss and racket
For a spiffy new wool jacket!

A Special Day for Fluffy Friends

It only happens once a year
In the Month of Sleeping:
Gnorbu owners get to shear,
And then they must start sweeping!

Fluffy wool lies on the floor
Under the Gnorbus’ feet.
Soon they’ll start to grow some more-
It really is quite neat!

For now I think of what I’ll do
With all of this fine wool;
I haven’t yet got a clue,
But I’ve gone home with a bagful!

Maybe I’ll spin some woolen thread
And make a Gnorbu Snow Coat--
Or a jumper and a scarf instead?
Or a purse… or a tote!? 

The possibilities are great
With a Gnorbu by your side.
Their coat isn’t even their greatest trait:
They’re the best friends far and wide!

So Happy Gnorbu Shearing Day
To all pets and Neopians around!
Today should be fun and full of play
To appreciate the friends we’ve found!

The Gnarly Gnorbu

This is the tale of a Gnorbu,
Who was quite a funny pet.
He always liked to break the rules,
And he loved getting all wet.

Most Gnorbu like to stay on land,
And keep their wooly fur dry.
But this Gnorbu was adventurous,
He gave everything a try.

Instead of staying in the fields,
He preferred visiting the sea.
Hired a surfboard for the day,
And jumped in the water fancy free.

To teach himself to learn to surf,
This was his biggest wish.
To lose himself in the ocean blue,
And go swimming with the fish.

If you head down to the closest beach,
You'll see him in the surf.
This gnarly Gnorbu is a cool dude,
And the water is his turf!

The Gnorbu's Apple-Bobbing Stall

In a quaint corner of the Haunted Woods,
Vandebart Biggsby ran a booth
Where fair-goers stuck their heads in barrels
And fished apples out with a tooth.

Today, however, the stall was packed
With angry customers and picket signs
And pitchforks and torches
And rusty weapons of all kinds.

"This station doesn't meet regulations
Upheld by the Pet Protection League,"
The protestors cried
While Biggsby looked on, rather fatigued.

"The sanitation standards were ignored,"
The crowd complained.
"The dirty waters giving us blurred vision
Are keeping our hospitals strained!"

"Alright, alright," Biggsby finally sighed,
"After each of you lot,
I'll start using disinfecting potions.
Anything else that causes you distraught?"

Satisfied, the crowd dispersed,
And gave a halfhearted yay
With a complimentary Spy Apple
In their bags, packed away.

Ghost Gnorbu Morphing Potion

This potion is of spectral hue.
It scintillates with grey.
It floats so weirdly in midair,
Emitting ghostly rays.

It shakes and trembles, vibrates too.
Its power can be seen.
It's simply supernatural.
It has an eerie sheen.

Be careful when you open this
Most haunting, glowing flask.
It's sealed with spells beyond your ken.
To open it's a task.

Beware the creepy ghost effect
That overcomes your pet.
This potion will transform its looks,
No weak or idle threat.

Gnorbu Snore-bu

The Gnorbu grazes on an open field,
Tassled tail swatting lazily at Springabees.
Fresh cut grass is her favourite flavour,
And this buffet has made her incredibly pleased.

Once the Gnorbu has had her fill,
Her belly protrudes from beneath her mane.
She lays down to rest on the soft green meadow,
Feeling as though this joy would never wane.

A few moments pass, and lo and behold!
Said furry creature known as a Gnorbu — 
Fast asleep on the grassy ground — 
Has just become a big old Snore-bu.

Though you may find yourself chortling,
At this hardly glamorous scene I’ve painted.
Just remember — Gnorbu are actually amazing,
Their pure, gentle hearts untainted.
