ELEPHANTE DAY SPECIAL

Peanut Day
by Lingliiiiing87

Todays the day!
The day where I go out to prey
For a delicacy that's like no other;
One that I could share with
Each and every Elephante brother.

What is this food, you might ask?
Finding it is a simple task
And delicious to all, especially to me;
I'm eating some now and I'm happy as a bee!

Why haven't I told you what it is yet?
Please don't worry and please don't fret,
I'll tell you now before
You start to whine and start to tut;
It's the mighty and majestic peanut!

The peanut is my favorite food,
A food that will always put me in a great mood,
Especially on Elephante Day every year,
There's always an endless supply,
So I never have any fear.

My Intriguing Elephante Lamp
by Sugarypixiestix2

Osiri's Pottery had put on sale,
which was the start of my tale.
While browsing through displays,
with tables formed like a maze,

I came upon a dull golden lamp;
at first it appeared to be damp.
Likely from its use as a vase,
causing it to be out of place.

Feeling empathy for this object
because of its obvious neglect,
My hands lifted it up to study --
it had been tarnished and muddy.

So, I decided to buy the piece
in order to give it a release
from being sadly unappreciated,
this lamp had been depreciated.

When I brought it home I beamed --
suddenly my home felt esteemed.
In time I'll give it a cleaning
to further its curious meaning.

Peg Leg Percival The Pirate
by Dr_tomoe

In the mess halls of Krawk Island,
where the gamblers meet to bet,
the odds on the pirates are listed
and soon all the bets are set.

The big names are all there,
with bigger appetites to match,
and soon the competition starts
and there's a Food Club round to catch.

The snarfs and gobbles from them
echo through the candlelit hall
and, after a half hour of eating,
the winners stand tall.

The losers grumble and complain
and the winners laugh to the bank,
for they were smart and bet the only Elephante
as Peg Leg Percival made
the others walk the plank.

They realized his love of spicy foods
would outweigh his allergies to smoothies,
and his strength defied the odds
and his supporters' Neopoint worries.

A day is then given to digest their meals
as the cooks prepare the next day's menu
and the supporters of Peg Leg Percival
treat him as the day's hero.

Will tomorrow hold the same?
That remains to be seen,
but some will see his favorite food listed
and victory will be assured
in those Spicy Wings.

The Littlest Elephante
by Flufflepuff

Of all degrees of smallness, Morp’s
Was that of Petpetpets
Up to the point where they posed far
More than a meager threat.

The Elephante struggled to
Make his journeys and roam
The vast landscape for sustenance --
An average Neohome.

As such, small ropes and pulleys filled
Morp’s otherwise clean place.
To travel outside, however,
Was a danger to his face

And all the rest of him, at that.
Despite his size, Morp knew
He’d no trouble with Neopoints,
For his needs were few.

Besides, he thought, what else is life,
Truly, but conquered death?
If not, Morp reasoned, what is life
But a series of breaths?

The Elephante disappeared
One day, but not to fret --
He might be in his Neohome
And might not come out yet!

Hailing The Elephante
by Scouting

Bring your mind back to Year Two,
When Neopians' wishes finally turned true.
That was the year when the Elephante came
And promptly shot straight up to fame!

With their great efficiency,
And no show of complacency,
They diligently patrol the grounds of Sakhmet
So that the wily Kyrii wouldn't
Sneak away just yet!

These playful creatures also love to dance,
Cheerfully picking fruits and always in a prance.
But did you also know
They are excellent marksmen,
And always willing to lend a hand?

Elephantes are always game to use their lungs,
To practise shooting peanuts from their trunks,
Oh, their faces may appear
Red from time to time,
But trust me, their skills
Are actually very sublime.

As we celebrate this Elephante Day,
Let us all hail their marvelous displays!
Performing and leaving us all in a daze,
Never ceasing to amaze!

The Elephante In The Tree
by Binky1260

While enjoying a morning stroll,
A vision did I see;
For, there atop the highest branch
Sat an Elephante in a tree.

Now, how he could have gotten there
Isn't clear to me;
With wings as tiny as a bird’s,
He’s such an oddity.

His body seems incapable
Of defying gravity,
And yet he balanced on a branch
Most precariously.

I asked if I could help him
Or provide some company,
But he answered with a smile and wave,
And thanked me graciously.

So now, when I am on a stroll,
I ponder the mystery
Of the wee-winged Elephante
Sitting in a tree.

Unconverted Plushie Elephante
by Our_teardrops

I've been told I must stay away
From all the paint brushes, morphing potions,
And the famous zapping lab ray.
Special and well-praised for my kind,
I am an unconverted plushie Elephante --
A rare title I can’t leave behind!

I can’t deny that I may secretly want
To follow the latest fashion trends:
Wear popular wigs, shoes and shirts,
And dress like anyone I can pretend!

I can’t put earrings on my floppy ears
Or equip wings on my back,
But there is something that I can wear
From the NC Mall I found.
“The Sewing Room Background”
Helps just to add a little bit of flair,
Enough to make my trunk roar happily
For all Neopians to hear!

Old Mr. Pacha
by Lasaramar

Old Mr. Pacha,
That Niptor is crying!
The poor thing broke his leg
While he was playing.

Put on him a bandage,
Give him love and care.
He’ll be so grateful
‘Cause you’re always there.

Old Mr. Pacha,
The Icklesaur is sick!
She’s got some sort of
Petpet Bloaty Belly.

Give her some tablets
And just let her sleep.
I think she ate
Too much Chocolate Jelly.

Old Mr. Pacha,
That poor Mazzew is weeping;
The Gruslen is growling,
The Uggatrip is sad.

That little Fangy
Looks terrible, Pacha.
Is it Neomonia?
Tell me, is it bad?

Old Mr. Pacha,
Thanks for your great labour!
You’re the best friend
Of Tyrannian Petpets.

Old Elephante,
You were sick once, as well.
I’m so glad you recovered
To become their vet.

Feather Elephante Headdress
by Indulgences

What stunning tribal elegance
Is, in this thing, imbued!
It's wrapped in feathers colorful,
So bright with rainbow hue!

It's colored gold, it's colored green,
It's colored ruby red.
I would be proud to place this thing
Upon my dear 'pet's head!

A pair of horns adorn the brow
And leather strands fall down.
It's such a gorgeous diadem --
A lovely, tribal crown!

Go buy your Elephante one
Of these most gorgeous things!
Your 'pet will be so proud and glad,
She'll want to dance and sing!

The Elephante Seamstress
by Crk524

The bell above the worn door chimes
The last time for the night,
And the day’s customers hurry home
Quick through the fading light.

The costume shop is quiet now,
Though not empty by far --
Tin armor rustles in the dark,
Faux diamonds glint like stars.

Behind the counter, Miyshabella yawns.
For most, the day’s at end,
But rest eludes the Elephante
Who has costumes to mend!

She bustles quickly through the aisle,
Wings in agitated flutter,
Re-shelving clothes and props returned,
She winds her way through the clutter.

Her paws trail through the vibrant clothes,
All lavish reproductions,
Fake swords, tiaras, cardboard wands
Of the finest construction.

But suddenly, her light steps halt,
Her paws come to a rest
Upon the dusty, tattered form
Of a once-beautiful dress.

Immediately, the Elephante sets to her task.
Grabbing a needle, she starts to sew.
Restitching, renewing the worn-out dress
Her trunk weaves to and fro.

But something happens as she works.
The night darkening in the street,
Though all the tears are mended,
The garment doesn't seem complete.

What this dress needs is color!
Thinks she. To liven up its hue,
orange fringes recycled from these gloves
should complement the periwinkle blue!

A whir of stitching, yards of silk --
“What next? A silver chain?
Sewn in the collar, and for some sparkle
embroidery from my golden skeins..."

By the time Miysha is satisfied,
The sun has almost shown its face.
Around her flutter scraps of cloth,
Her hair’s tangled with yarn and lace.

No energy remains to hang her work of art.
Exhausted, her head drops.
But seconds later, there’s a chime at the door --
It’s time to open the shop!
