TECHO DAY SPECIAL

The Song Of Techo Day
by Chavo_guerrero

Techo Day is here at last,
Oh yes, indeed, it's true!
A happy time for Techos, of course,
But also for me and you!

They'll have cookies, cakes, and jelly surprise,
Plushies and jigsaws and toys,
Battledome games and fun books to read
If you can concentrate through all the noise.

There'll be some brand new colours, too --
I wonder what they'll be?
I'm hoping for something oh-so-cute,
I just can't wait to see!

We all sincerely love this month
Where Techo Day falls at last,
And while we're down at the party
We can really have a blast!

Techos are usually quiet,
Using their brains all day long,
But on this very merry day
They raise their voice in song.

They sing about the year gone past
And the new one yet to come,
They tell their tales with instruments
And some of the younger ones hum.

And all the 'pets in Neopia
Sit and gather around,
Some sitting upon shoulders
While some are seated on the ground.

And they listen to these stories
As they eat their cakes and such,
For Techos' tales come alive,
We love them very much!

If you've nothing planned this Techo Day,
Spare some time to sit,
The songs they're singing about this year
Will be Neopia's biggest hit!

And when they're through with singing,
There's only one thing left to say:
Give them each a big, tight hug,
And shout, "Happy Techo Day!"

Alabaster Chesterdrawers: The Antiquing Techo!
by Snm08

Deep in Neovia,
A city once cursed,
Lives a Techo by the name of
Alabaster Chesterdrawers,
Who runs a shop you will likely pass by first!

Alabaster has many fine antiques,
From tables to beds to lamps!
Neopians from all over the Haunted Woods
Come to visit,
Even those from the gypsy camps!

The Framed Alice Photo
Is quite the popular buy!
Folks claim they can sit and stare at it for hours
And aren't even sure why!

Then there's the Cauldron,
A personal favorite of Sophie the Swap Witch!
It pleases Alabaster,
So when he makes such sales,
He is really glad he has found
His business world niche!

If you're ever in Neovia,
Stop on by Chesterdrawers'
And pick up an antique!
You will be sure to see Alabaster,
He is there all week!

My TECHO ENERGY DRINK Boost
by Sugarypixiestix2

It's endorsed by Sir Techo Fanatic,
saying it makes him less erratic.
Keeping him focused on the games
that he loves dearly, he exclaims.

I decided to test out this drink,
to see if it will do what I think,
which is to keep me up all night
in order to finish up my rewrite.

Since the deadline for my feature
has been shortened by my teacher,
I thus must stay awake and centered
if I want my piece to be entered.

This Techo Energy Drink must work
to prevent me from going berserk.
My nerves have made me overstrung
and I must combat my sharp tongue.

All cans in the Fresh Foods shoppe
have been purchased by me non-stop.
I'm hoping I have enough energy today
to get me published without delay.

Swamp Gas Techos Are The Best!
by Dr_tomoe

When it comes to Techos,
some others might say
you should paint them a happy color
and avoid things like grey.

I tend to agree,
and what could be smarter
than a color that makes
a nose twitch and eyes water?

A swamp gas Techo is
the best color to go for.
For starters, the brush is cheap,
so you can afford to paint more!

They'll make any season seem like fall,
because the aroma will turn the leaves
and they'll make sure there's no crowd,
so no worries about pickpockets or thieves!

Swamp gas Techos
are plainly first rate,
even though critics with noses
don't think they're so great.

But, even with the aroma
they have something for all,
except anyone who might want
to go to the Chocolate Ball.

The Dr_Death Dilemma
by 20003425

What happened to you, Dr_Death?
Once a Techo sharp and astute,
Now you’ve become quite the brute
And I smell evil on your breath.

So, was this the way it always has been?
Try to remember a time of your youth...
You must have been a young Techo of truth,
But now time’s wearing thin.

Can you not change your ways, dear sir?
A Techo’s a Techo, you must not forget.
So, despite demeanor and terrible threats,
Don’t let the past become a blur.

Once you were gentle and kind,
Adopting out 'pets with purest of mind,
And now abandonment’s changed your tempo,
But do not forget the very nature of the Techo.

R.I.P Techo Says
by Outlander_

Rest in peace, Techo Says.
I know, technically, you are not dead.
In the Game Graveyard
Is where you stay,
No Neopoints will I gain,
But at least I can still play!

A friendly green Techo invites me to play.
How can anyone look at him and say no way?
We go to an arcade-looking game,
"No, you must remember
The order in which I say,"
He tells me with a grin.
Let the game begin!

Chia, Moehog, Chia, Blumaroo.
Memorizing this order is not a hard thing to do.
Moehog, Kacheek, Quiggle, Mynci.
It is getting faster,
And now I see
That Techo Says is a bit harder
Than it lets on to be.

After I play a good game or two,
I have to leave
For other important things to do,
But I will be back
To hear the Techo say,
"Now, you must remember
The order of what I say."

The Kite-Flying Techo
by Binky1260

While strolling in the park one day,
I chanced upon a sight:
A Techo balanced on his head
As he flew a Techo Kite.

I must confess that this strange scene,
At first, caused quite a shock;
I feared most for his safety
As he began to rock.

Back and forth he teetered
As he balanced on his pate;
Blissfully the kite did sail,
Resigned to its own fate.

Then, suddenly, I realized
There was no cause for alarm;
The Techo’s perfectly-shaped head
Was working like a charm.

Its flatness is the ideal platform
That all Techos need,
And agility is the key
That helps him to succeed.

So, if you chance upon a Techo
Balanced on his head,
Remember it’s his nature
And enjoy the show instead.

The Techo Master's Quest
by Choquis

High atop tall mountain’s peak,
carved with Techo’s face,
Master sits with green legs crossed
in bubbling lava’s place.
Many see the master sit,
converse about his peace.
Rumors spread around the land
but Master still won’t cease.

Sun rises and falls, yet still he sits
in solitary location.
The world happens all around;
he’s still in meditation.
Many students find themselves
trekking up the rock.
Yet, when they beg for Sensei’s aid,
he still declines to talk.

Finally, one scared pupil,
much wiser than the rest,
decides to try the teacher’s mind
and begins his lonely quest.
He sees the master, asks for help,
but to no avail.
Then an idea comes to his head
and he sits down on his tail.

With his master, young one sits
and blocks out all the noise.
He slows his breath and focuses,
settles into a deep poise.
So, Techo Master breaks his trance:
The student’s found the key.
Master grabs the young one’s hands
and says, “Come train with me."

Reject Techo Toy
by Indulgences

Oh, how can anyone reject
This tiny little toy?
Although its form is not ideal,
It's something to enjoy!

So what if all its stitches are
A little skewed and wrong?
Some child would love it anyway,
With love that's pure and strong!

Its eyes are sewn on crookedly,
And yet, they're charming, too.
The left eye is a stunning green,
The right, a dapper blue.

Its belly is a yellow shade,
So nice and soft to touch.
I'd love to hug this lovely toy.
I'd love it very much.

Its tail does not act properly
To balance two hind feet.
Yet, though it's sewn so carelessly,
I also think it's neat.

Oh, how can anyone not buy
This pleasant, lovely toy?
It's something to be hugged in turn
By every girl and boy!

The Techo Thief
by Miraday

A young, hungry Aisha slumps outside
Exquisite Ambrosia, poor and deprived.
A hooded passerby notices briefly
And quietly escapes into a nearby alley.

The figure's blue, scaly, smooth hands sail
Across his cloak, fixing and hiding his tail.
"Gordos' clerk transfers funds at six o'clock,"
He murmurs to himself and rushes off.

The stealthy shadow slithers through Altador's
Uncharted labyrinth of alleys and backdoors,
He paces through passages, hidden from sight,
Eager for his concocted plan to strike.

Unswayed eyes watch the clerk, a Wocky,
As he opens the door carrying bags of money.
A blue hand positions a dagger by its right side,
And the figure turns the corner right in time--

Smack! The clerk and shadow swiftly collide;
The impact seems accidental to an untrained eye.
Bags of Neopoints instantly drop to the ground.
"I'm so sorry!" the figure sputters
In convincing sound.

The cloaked and hooded shadow helps the clerk
Retrieve the bags from the pavement and dirt.
A carefully controlled dagger
Splits the belly of one bag,
Gushing an unseen amount
Into stealthy blue hands.

The severed bag is arranged onto the clerk's heap
In a fashion hiding where the Neopoints leaked.
The figure whisks the money
Into a stash and says,
"I'm sorry for this all, I'll be on my way."

He strides on, gives an unnoticed look back --
The clerk still oblivious that he was attacked --
And slides into the shadows, unapprehended:
The Techo thief Kelland succeeds again.

En route back to Exquisite Ambrosia,
Dusk sets upon Altador in hues of magenta.
Four stars shine brightly
In a diamond, indiscreet --
Illuminating the constellation of the Thief.

Kelland abruptly hands the Aisha the coins.
"This will cover your meal, with spare Neopoints."
The Aisha's eyes tear up,
And before she can thank him,
He states, "Hunger will not
Plague an Altador citizen."

Some members of the city's council forget
What Kelland has done to earn his keep, yet...
The Thief undoubtedly protects the poor
And proves his commitment to Altador.
