IXI DAY SPECIAL

Ready For Ixi Day
by Lillypottie

Neopets line up by the sides of the street;
Korbats and Chias all ready to meet
The star of the day.
“Ixi Day is here. Hip, hip, hooray!”

The balloons are coloured in blue and in pink.
Flotsam turns to Lupe, “It’s pretty, I think.”
Confetti is sprinkled in Ixi’s way.
“Ixi Day is here. Hip, hip, hooray!”

Ixi waves and the crowd does cheer
For its favourite day of the whole year.
Chomby and the Fungus Balls begin to play.
“Ixi Day is here. Hip, hip, hooray!”

Ixi returns to their homeland Meridell,
Certainly missing the Meri Acres Farm smell.
Even King Skarl sends a flowery bouquet.
“Ixi Day is here. Hip, hip, hooray!”

July the 11th is sure to stick in our mind --
One of the best days of the year, you’ll find.
“Fun!” “Special!” “Magical!” you’ll say.
“Ixi Day is here. Hip, hip, hooray!”

Now Ixi Day is nearly done
And all of Neopia has had lots of fun.
A baby Acara sheds a small tear,
But there’s no need to fear
Because Ixi Day will be back in just one year.

The Hidden Ixi Glade
by Sugarypixiestix2

If you live in or visit Meridell,
you may know where the Ixi dwell.
It is a glade of their very own,
but the exact location is unknown.

Ixi prefer to live in seclusion
in order to prevent an intrusion.
So, young Ixi can grow up securely,
unable to find danger prematurely.

Many hikers try to spot the glade,
only to go home feeling dismayed.
Even those who own an Ixi or two
know nothing of where they grew.

When an Ixi turns into an adult,
they can leave the glade and exult
with a promise to never disclose
where their fellow Ixi once arose.

To keep this a secret for so long
shows how an Ixi can do no wrong.
They're smart, brave, and devoted,
without any need to be promoted.

Ixi Chemistry
by Dr_tomoe

In the world of Neopia,
progress comes in forms.
While magic is common
in areas, science is the norm.

Within the Haunted Woods
there is a secret lab,
not unlike Landlebrot's,
but not quite as fab.

At this secret location,
the science of the day is chemistry,
which is studied up by an Ixi
located in this laboratory.

A study of atoms and molecules,
of compounds and mixes,
is observed and tested here
for scientific fixes.

Whether it's Neopian or Faeryllium,
Tyrannium or Slothite,
Chemistry with Ixi is
for beginners, but quite alright.

Just take care when mixing
to avoid unstable compounds,
or you'll get one of those explosions
that have been going around.

Ixi Archer
by Flufflepuff

Endurance, flexibility,
And loyalty are in
The Ixi archer and her bow.
They resonate within
Each other's souls. It serves her well,
Protecting her from pain.
And she, in turn, protected it
From fire, theft, and rain.

Born of hooves and carved from trees
In the Ixi way,
Her bow was crafted just for hooves:
In hands it would not stay.
With arrows made from equal care,
The archer, confident,
Flew through the woods on nimble feet
And, on her back, her friend.

Through years of careful listening,
She and her bow, in tune
With each other, went proudly forth
To rid her forest's gloom.
Wrath and mercy all in one
Were on her faithful bow.
A pull, a twang, a thud, silence:
She'd purged her home of woe.

Princess Neera Day
by Phadalusfish

Nabile threw open the marble doors
Of her Sakhmet palace and gestured
For the Uni herald to step onto
The grand sand-colored balcony.

He unrolled the scroll, and his
Practiced voice boomed out
Over the marketplace and
Echoed through the city.

"By order of Her Royal Highness,
Today, the eleventh of Swimming,
Known as Ixi Day, will also be known
In Sakhmet as Princess Neera Day!"

"The celebrations will begin at sundown
On the palace steps!" Cheers rose
From the crowd gathered in the market
And Nabile smiled, pleased.

She retreated back into the palace
Where she returned to overseeing
The painters in the gallery, who had
Been working for weeks.

The painting was finally finished,
Covered in a fine linen sheet.
When they saw Nabile approach,
The artists yanked off the sheet.

Nabile paused. What she had heard
Was true: the resemblance
Between her and her ancestor
Was chillingly uncanny.

"She was beautiful," Nabile
Whispered. "Yes she was," one
Of the painters responded, "and her
Heart was made of gold."

"I hope I can honor her memory.
If she had not been exiled by our
Family, Sakhmet and I would not
Be what we are. We would not be free."

Jazan appeared in the doorway.
"You do honor her memory."

Interesting Ixi
by Chavo_guerrero

There's a book I could suggest to you,
Since now it's Ixi Day,
Called Interesting Ixi --
And it's brilliant, by the way.

All the best are in it:
Sophie with her stews,
Nabile, Sinsi, Tarla...
And Hanso, if you choose.

There's others with a mention
That you probably don't know,
Like Ilsa Ellits from Meridell --
He plays Yooyuball, you know.

The pages are full of pictures
And the writing's not too much;
It's a very simple little read,
And it's cheap to buy and such.

Full of fun adventures,
It's a must for Ixi fans,
And today's the perfect time to read
If you have no other plans.

Mystery Bag
by Trubiekatie

I’ve travelled the highest mountain,
To reach this lone Ixi’s special shop.
She must be crazy, that Ixi Tarla,
If she deliberately chose to be up top.

She’s dressed in robes and jewelry:
Flashy belts, necklaces, rings, and more.
I haven’t come to ogle at her fashion sense,
But I did come to shop around her store.

Is shop the right word? I don’t think so, no.
It isn’t shopping when each bag is a risk.
It could be full of forgotten treasures,
Or just a worthless flying disc.

I’ve tried this sort of luck before
And it hasn’t fared well for me.
I know that, if the first bag is unlucky,
I’ll surely be on an opening spree.

The first bag I buy is not too good;
The second remains just as bad.
I trekked for hours just to shop
And I’m feeling anything but glad.

With a wave of her wooden staff,
Tarla creates more mystery bags.
I simply cannot resist this fun,
Even with their pricey tags!

Maraquan Ixi Haikus
by Binky1260

Spied o’er aqua depths,
A glimmer of graceful form
Like an illusion.

Maraquan Ixi
In a crystal clear domain,
Ethereal one.

Lissome and lovely,
Fluidity in motion,
A water spirit.

Reposed in slumber,
She is a watercolor,
Gold and midnight blue.

Daughter of nature,
Glad of her transparent world,
She wants no other.

The Perils Of Pixie
by Heroed

There once was a clever young Ixi,
Who was known to be terribly tricksy,
She loved playing jokes
On unsuspecting folks,
And so all her friends called her Pixie.

One day she went out for a stroll
(For pranking had taken its toll),
When the ground soon gave way
And she fell, as one may,
And she found herself trapped in a hole.

Now Pixie felt terribly scared
As she pondered who could have dared,
Was this Vira's cruel game?
Were Meepits to blame?
Or even Werelupes with teeth bared?

When the atmosphere had gotten scary
At the top loomed the Darkest Faerie!
Though Pixie feared her doom,
She removed the costume,
To show herself Pixie's friend Berry.

When Pixie got clear thinking back,
She had to respect the payback,
She climbed out of the pit,
Smiled at Berry's wit,
And left to plan her next attack.

11 Months Of Unemployment
by _usuki_collector_315

After the month of Yooyu flinging is done,
11 months of unemployment
For some has begun,
The sweaty box that,
For a month, he calls home
Is no longer is his; he is left free to roam,
So where in Altador
Could a lone ranger be hired?
For, poor Hovri Sweet
Has been temporarily fired.

Perhaps the rock quarry
Is perfect employment?
Where finding flat stones
Is not just for enjoyment,
The weather is sunny,
The hard hats tend to flatter,
When not quarrelling,
The co-workers are up for a natter,
The only problem that this job may entail,
Sweet’s just had a manicure;
He might break a nail!

Perhaps an ol' farmer may offer a job,
Harvesting produce
From olives to corn on the cob,
If spending days
Among crops is not his ambition,
Fixing that windmill
Could become his new found mission,
There’s unfortunately one con
That trumps all the pros,
There’s mud everywhere --
Think of his poor clothes!

Perhaps at the Water Plant
He may find his place,
Preventing floods a challenge that he may face,
Think of the excitement, the thrill and the rush,
Of controlling the water, both trickle and gush.
There is, of course, one qualm of his...
The moisture in the air will make his hair frizz!

Perhaps an archivist could be his profession,
Where books and scrolls
Would be his obsession,
Learning about everything,
From the Wave to the Sleeper,
Or, indeed, finding clues
And digging much deeper,
However, Sweet should probably keep walking,
For this library maintains silence
And he can’t stop talking!

It’s a good thing for him there’s one final trade,
Where keeping clean is much easier
And moisture he can evade,
The works easy on his nails,
He can converse all day long,
And it needs someone like him --
Persistent and strong,
For there is an Orange Yurble
Who could use a hand,
He’s been sweeping up rubble
Much longer than planned.
