KAU DAY SPECIAL

A Simple Kau Effictio
by Neuroticat42

My noble Kau's horns are the brightest white.
Her tuft of mane rivals the smoothest silk
with the glowing hue of the morning light,
and her skin unblemished as sweet milk.

Her eyes are as bright as and bold as rubies
and shine with an intelligence unmatched.
Her wit is surpassed only by her beauty.
Her smile tells when she has a plan hatched.

Her smile delights; she's never aloof.
Her poise and social grace are unrivaled.
She prances on her dainty little hooves.
Her demeanor will never be stifled.

I've described my Kau's beauty completely.
It should be clear, I care for her deeply!

I Miss Kau Korral
by Dr_tomoe

Every so often in Neopia,
a game is sent to pasture,
and one such one to go
used to be a fixture.

To herd the Kaus in
and get them in the barn,
it was more than fun,
it was quite the yarn.

It was fun while it lasted,
and while it wasn't perfect,
it was entertaining, enjoyable,
and amusing to finish.

But now it's gone,
The Game Graveyard is its home.
It's where all games go when
their time has come.

I'll miss herding Kaus
and having a laugh.
I can only hope one day
it returns with a revamp.

My Summery Kau Perfume
by Sugarypixiestix2

It is the perfect scent to wear
when you are in your lawn chair.
You will smell just like a field,
making your nose become unsealed.

Taking in a whiff of fresh grass,
even if your Neopet is swamp gas.
The pleasant aroma of Kau perfume
will save you from a smelly doom.

Grass is a Kau's favourite snack,
its flavour helps them kick back.
Kalora is said to use it every day,
aiding her on what cards to play.

Once it is sprayed onto your skin,
you will be lifting up your chin.
There's no other perfume like it;
a foul odour it will never emit.

Atop the bottle are two Kau horns,
looking like glass-carved thorns.
An aesthetically simple creation
similar to a single white carnation.

Kau Fortune Teller
by Phadalusfish

Grimsely pulled aside the blue
And gold starred curtain and
Stepped into the shadowy, smoky
Room. Incense filled the air.

A pink Kau sat across the face
Of a round wooden table, a
Crystal ball dancing with rainbow
Lights before her. "I'm sorry,"

The Kau looked up at Grimsely
And frowned. "I don't look for
Winning lottery numbers or the
Future of the stock market anymore."

The Krawk paused in the door
Frame, then stepped forward
And took a seat anyway. "Why
Not?" he asked. "You used to."

She studied the Krawk.
"You already know I won't,
So you're procrastinating.
What's so important that

You want to ask, but you're
Afraid to know the answer?"
Grimsely looked down at the
Hands folded, wringing in his lap.

The Kau gazed into her crystal
Ball. The pale rainbow colors
Turned vibrant, bent themselves
Into discernible shapes.

The pale rainbow returned.
"What did you see?" Grimsely
Asked. "I'll tell you what I
Saw when you ask what you came

To ask." The Krawk started
To open his mouth, but closed
It again. "I'm sorry, I can't."
Grimsely stood up.

"You can't ask, because deep
Down you already know the answer."
Grimsely reached for the curtain.
"Is that what you tell all

Your customers?" Grimsely
Asked. The Kau fortune teller
Smiled gently. "Only the ones
Who really need my help."

Kau Funny Are You?
by Meowclopspurrcat

Kau many jokes can you make about a Kau?
It is not of their choosing,
But when a Kau mooves into a room,
She’s seen as quite a-moosing!

Kaus are seen as udderly hilarious
By all who come to hear
The moosical bellows charm any fellow
And cause everyone to cheer!

If you take a Kau to the moovies,
They won’t just get any snack;
They’ll go straight to the calffeine
And nearly give you a heart attack!

I herd that Kaus are great guests, though;
They never cause a frown!
Because of their impeccable manures,
They are the talk of the town!

But you’ll sure know when that sheriff
Has a beef with you;
He’ll start grilling you until you talk
And he’ll let your worries stew!

So, Kau many jokes did we make?
Let’s sit and ruminate,
Because even though they’re so punny,
Those Kaus are really great!

Cheat!
by Trubiekatie

I heard that she’s supposed to be good,
A true competitor in this one card game,
But I’m sitting here playing
With her and others,
Pondering how she quickly grew to fame.

A Kau by species, but Kalora by name.
For an incoming tourist, is good at Cheat!.
I’ve been told by many winners and losers
That this tacky Kau really can’t be beat.

It’s her turn
And Kalora has just called three fours
But I’m looking at my hand
And find it rather odd:
I have two fours myself,
Which are half those cards.
She’s claimed more fours
And I believe this is fraud.

I could risk it and call cheat,
Or wait for someone else.
“Cheat!” I claim aloud
And I watch to see her face.
She grimaces and sulks;
Now I’ve truly caught her lie.
Kalora looks quite angry
As I’ve caused her disgrace.

There’s a massive stack of cards right now,
And she was just one card away from the win.
Now putting all the cards in her hand,
Seeing her so angry, I can’t help but grin.

With her cheat,
I inch closer to winning this round.
When I play my card,
She demands another game.
There’s a new opponent; should I play again?
I accept her challenge -- I can win all the same!

Kauvara's Rainbow
by Popit99

In her workshop, alone in the night,
Kauvara works on her new creation.
However, the new potion
is causing the Kau much frustration.

A simple rainbow shouldn’t be hard to bottle,
but the colors keep slipping away
and mix together
to a cloudy-sky gray.

The smoke slips through the cork
like a Wadjet through the sand.
It’s unfortunate that
things aren’t going as planned.

So, Kauvara starts over
and mixes paint with drops of rain,
and with a touch of rainbow fountain water,
hopefully it won’t go down the drain.

Lo and behold, there’s a wisp of smoke
of red, yellow, orange, and green.
However, the blue and purple
are nowhere to be seen.

Kauvara glares at the bottle,
but she won’t quit.
Until she sees her rainbow in a bottle,
she will use all her wit.

She adds blue and purple sand,
with rainbow socks an extra measure.
Then, by adding a few
stray clouds and rainbow chalk,
it will make it a treasure.

The potion bubbles and boils,
squirts smoke and colors into the air.
Now there’s a rainbow in a bottle,
which Kauvara corks with great care.

With a magnificent arch,
a rainbow is present, colorful and bold.
But before placing it on a shelf,
Kauvara wonders,
Where went the pot of gold?

Kauvara's Surprise
by Jade19798

As you enter the shop you're greeted with
four hooves and a tail,
a mile wide smile,
and fur with the finest patterned detail.

With a pointed hat on her head
and a tuft of hair poking out,
she starts to wonder
why you're here and asks,
"What's this all about?"

She leaves her cauldron bubbling
as she wanders over to you.
She trots forward four steps
toward the "Happy Kau Day!" balloon.

She seems somewhat confused.
You try to help her understand:
"It's Kau appreciation day!
Celebrating the finest species in the land!"

Her eyes lit up at the thought.
"Of course it is!" she says.
"The 18th Day of Relaxing,
how could I forget?!?"

You hand her the balloon
and she invites you in for tea:
"Stay for a while, my dear.
Celebrate Kau Day with me!"

An Ode To The Kau
by Exequy

Gently how the Kaus do roam,
Singing mooooo-sic joyfully.
On green, green pastures, smiling wide
With joy of life and song inside.

They sing throughout the feather-breeze
And, softly, they do talk.
But ah, the measures are what lifts
The Kaus with all their moosical gifts.

They moooove about Neopia,
A choir to be sure.
Of notes they may just sing just one,
But they have found it’s still quite fun!

So, if you pass along through pastures
On a soft and breezy day,
Listen for the Kaus’ simplistic song --
And with just one note, do sing along!

Kaus' Perilous Journey
by Aviator_zane

Wandered here and there
For a warm and cosy home.
Along with the rest,
We dawdled to the end.

Bright light fades,
Shadow swallows all.
Moon guided us through,
So we continued all along.

The frigid silent night,
I gave a drowsy yawn,
But in the middle of the dying woods,
We'd better move along.

After the spine chilling,
Out of the devilish grip,
The sunlight calm us all,
And so we continued all along.

But the scorching red sun
Parched the entire land
And withered us all.
In this barren land,
What hopes are there left?

Dark clouds form the skies,
Lightning greets us all,
Shed its every tears,
Quenched our dying thirst.

Adversities are countless,
But we strive onward
To our home we desire.
March on, my fellow friends.
