The Days Of Rowzez Are Here!
by Dana333498

Outside, the sun shines...
Warming up all Neopets,
But it's not summer.

Oh yes, it is spring.
Rowzez and Peabeanjays grow
In Neogardens.

Every Neopet
Races to the nearest park
In a large stampede.

The Garden Centre
Is happy for the big sales,
But not the huge crowd.

Sales of pie increase
For throwing into faces
With laughter around.

For Gadgadsbogen,
Festivals fill the island
Filled with native fruit.

Fields filled with green grass
Grow in every land there is
And teem with flowers.

Sounds of the Pteris
Fill the fresh and beautiful air
And soothe your troubles.

Springtime we so love;
The days of Rowzez are here,
Bringing happiness.

I Am A Frowny
by Jo_eccentric

I am a Frowny who's known to be sad.
But really, I'm not. I'm not all that bad.

I may have a frown drawn upon my face,
But that's how I was,
You just have to embrace.

I am a Frowny who wants to be free,
Who wants to be known
As the one filled with glee.

Though, how can I be all happy and joyous
If everyone believes I'm glum by choice?

I am a Frowny who has a great owner;
No, I'm not upset. No, I'm not a loner.

I want to be known as a happy Petpet --
I don't want to be known as being upset.

I am a Frowny with an upturned smile,
But my love can really go on for a mile.

Please treat me the same as all of your friends,
Please try understand me
And try to comprehend.

Scratchcard Ambitions
by Biscuitqueen

Scritch and scratch, mix and match;
I'm hoping for a fruitful catch,
A scratchcard haul that I can snatch
And, to the bank, quickly dispatch!

The first few spaces make me choke.
Two blanks to start -- what a joke!
A snowball's revealed with my next stroke;
At this rate, I'll surely go flat broke.

Then "10K" here, and "10k" there!
With that I could buy something rare.
"One more match, please,"
Is my sudden desire --
This suspense I almost cannot bear!

But Lady Luck's not kind to me.
While I do get a match of three,
The squares do not fill me with glee.
Three blanks won't net a prize, you see.

You'd think I'd tire of this game
And its empty promises of NP and fame,
But I won't give up, and I feel no shame.
To win a jackpot is my only aim!

Don't Kiss The Mortog
by Lalapaloozoo

A young Usul, down the hill
Runs towards the town, enraged.
Her screams are angry and shrill;
We watch, wondering if it is all staged.

She splutters and spits,
Gagging between screeches.
She has herself coughing fit
As we stand speechless.

A Mortog hops to her side,
Seemingly attached to the girl,
But as soon as her coughs subside,
She spins toward him in a whirl.

"I THOUGHT YOU WERE A PRINCE!"
She cries, once more wiping her face.
"But no," she says with a wince,
"That was clearly not the case."

The townsfolk begin to cackle,
Crumpled over in glee.
The Mortog plays with a grackle,
Oblivious to the scene.

The Usul's face is red,
The Mortog's remains green.
Unlike the story so often read,
The Mortog is not the son of a queen.

Fishing Day
by Mmyraine

In the ruins of a secret city,
You’ll find a wondrous place.
A place where you can hang your hat,
Drop your line, and enjoy the day.

Ye Olde Fishing Vortex is where you can go!

With all your friends along for the ride,
You’ll grab some bait and hope for the best.

You sit and wait for your first catch,
And then the tip of your rod tingles.
You anticipate what might be on the other end.

It could be a Rockfish or an old shoe,
A Tanglepus or just some fungus.

But always hoping for the legendary catch!

With its brown spots,
Its large green eye,
And it’s sticky tentacles,
The Titanic Giant Squid is all you hope for.

Another tingle of your rod
And you begin to fight,
Fight with all your might.
Reeling, reeling as fast as you can.

It’s strong, so strong...
But you’re stronger!

As it slowly makes it’s way to the surface,
You see it!
Those spots, those eyes!

Up to the dock you bring it
As your friends applaud.
Who would’ve thought
It would have been you?
Now you’ll go down in the books
As one of the best fishermen in all of Neopia!
