Woes Of A Gallery Owner
by Limo8

Items you find beautiful
Collecting until you are gleeful
Never giving up on one item
You organize and love them

One, two, three more items in
Look at that, nearly finished
It's about time I win
Oh no! It's diminished
Not yet nearly finished

As soon as it's added
One more item has arrived
When I get the item
I feel so deprived
My Neopoints gone;
I must save up yet again

One, two, three Neopoints saved
Must continue to finish
Such a duly-rewarded,
Hard-earned collection
My hat off to any completed

I finally see the last item in sight...
What a fright, the price!
I must save and save some more
It just vanished
Oh, what to do?

I may never have it complete;
I never give up, just keep going
Just keep flowing with the items
As they come and go
Don't give up and never give in
The true woes of a Gallery owner!

The Mystery Of The Mystery Pic
by Gideoncat

What on Earth is this?
Who in the world found this?
Where in Neopia is this, even?

One big square.
In it, smaller, monochromatic squares.
Each of these squares
Are made up of smaller squares
Of smaller squares.
When you shrink down these small squares
Full of smaller squares,
You get another small square,
Albeit larger
And less monochromatic
Than the other squares.

I've heard those are called pixels.
The pixels make an image.
The image is a piece of another image.
That original image
Is somewhere on this web site.

That is a beautiful thing.
And that beautiful thing prompts
An arduous mission: to find the beautiful thing.
But sometimes the things aren't beautiful,
And that makes it tricky.

Because I just want to know
What the potentially beautiful thing is.

And get on with my life.

Someone figure this out already, please.

I'm too perplexed by the beauty
Of the mystery of the Mystery Pic...

To even think of an answer.

The Ever-Misfortunate Wheel
by Pifflish

The Wheel of Misfortune
Goes 'round and 'round,
And no one can stop it --
Well, no one we've found.

So, if you should tour
The Deserted Fairground,
You might give a quick spin
To this spinner renowned.

You can't see the Wheelmaster,
Only his shade --
But that never hinders
His game to be played.

For the wheel, it is frightful
And sharp as a blade,
And each one who spins it
Seeks sharper a trade.

With a creak and a hiss
And an awful click-clack,
The wheel goes around
Then it stops in its track.

You could lose all your coin,
You could gain a full sack;
It could yield a new friend,
Or Pant Devil attack.

You may find that you cough,
Or may find a new doll
(One that only a Fairgrounder'd
Play with at all).

You could find only sludge
Where you once kept your haul,
Or, worse still, find your wits
Are exhausted and small.

Go on, spin the wheel!
Take your much-wanted chance!
Pull down strongly and watch
The wheel's hypnotic dance.

Shut your eyes as it slows,
And move not from your stance;
What's the worst that could happen?
Go on, take a glance...

An Ode To Chadley
by Mariella529

That stunning flash of teeth is sure to appeal,
Causing Neopians everywhere
To let out a squeal.
How gorgeous! How dashing!
The smile of Chadrick Woolsworth Tuffington IV
Is quite simply smashing!

They called him Chadley,
A name just for friends,
Because a name such as Chadrick
Just didn’t fit with the trends.
His considerate action to aid in Daily Dare
Ensured that Neopians would not despair.

His scores were high,
And weren’t beat in the blink of an eye.
His takeover of Daily Dare made history;
How AAA didn’t like him is an unsolved mystery.

What remains unknown
Is where the hero went.
Spotted in Meridell, camping in a tent?
Or are the rumours true, how could they be?
For it is said that AAA threw him into the sea!

We miss him, we miss him!
Please, come back soon!
For, when Chadley returns,
Neopia will be over the moon!

Thrift Shop Showdown!
by Hrosanna

Yellow Ruki standing there
Near the register
Bending forward anxiously

Argyle sweater, dull red shirt
Patches on the sleeves
Glasses frame his nervous eyes

"Welcome! The Second Hand Shop
Has your costume needs."
He hides behind the counter

Head right in, look at the shelves...
Nothing there but dung
And mossy rocks. Who wants them?

How's a sack fashionable?!?
My 'pet is enraged
At the lack of good attire.

All at once I spy it... NO!!!
Gone before I'm there
At this point I'm spitting fire

We linger in the shelving,
Eyes peeled, bodies tense,
To leap when we see a treat

Finally, the end is near
For laying on a chair --
A pink dress for her sister.

She and I leap to our prize
Clothing flies around
A storm of tattered fabric

But no! A white Usul paw
Laid there on the pink
Grasping fabric next to mine

Eyes connect; she won't let go
All else fades away
A ladies' showdown for style

We don't move or breathe or speak
A silent challenge
Neither one will back away

For her pride is at stake!
It won't be denied
And her soul's in her clothes

I was forced to back away
Her ferocious glare
Was burning holes through my skull

With heavy heart, drooping face
Ears flopping straight down
We headed home, present-less

Faeries smiled on us that day
Exiting the store
Take two! And this time we won

Leaving now, time to go home,
Gift in tow, well-wrapped
They're Grundo Slippers, of course!
