Luck 'N' Chance
by Brad442
Going to the races today,
To bet on my favourite Poogle,
Better not spend all my Neopoints,
I guess I shall have to be frugal.
Next, I'll head over to Food Club,
Where I've got to avoid Dan the Blade,
It's not just because he's a pirate,
Mainly, I'm just afraid of the raids.
Time to try my luck at the dice,
As I try to bilge my way to a streak,
Maybe I'll get that cool avatar?
I doubt I'll get that 10 in a week...
Now it is time to see King Roo,
In hopes of winning a huge jackpot,
All I have to do is beat five dice,
And then I will go home with the lot.
All I have done so far is lose,
Should I try my luck with a scratchcard?
I heard that the odds were against me,
But I kept up my gambling charade.
I still haven't found any luck,
It's time to meet up with Jhudora,
I wonder what quest she will give me,
Although I do hate her bad aura...
I've been doing her quests all month,
Yet all my prizes have been tragic,
Up until this joyous fateful day,
When she gave me "Dark Faerie Magic."
Sadly, I'm running low on funds,
So I'll have to play some other game,
Just enough time to play Dar-BLAT!!!, though,
Better hope that today I have aim....

The Writhing Wraiths
by Mecha_fang
Deep in the caverns of ancient lore
Lie gibbering creatures of terror
The wraiths, the wraiths,
They writhe in the night
Any Neopet who meets them is in for a fright
They say, long ago, these formless beasts
Roamed Neopia, searching for Neopets to feast
With tendrils in their hives,
They fed on their prey
Withered husks were all that they left,
Never to see another day
A few years ago, Xandra the mage
Brought a new reign of terror to history's page
In her madness,
She destroyed the land of the Fae
And brought the wraiths
Back to hunt for more prey
Oblivion! Oblivion! Their mighty king is called
A monster, a beast
Who makes mountains look small
A demon so vicious,
It would scare even Lord Kass
This monster laid waste to Faerieland.
Oblivion SMASH!
Even today, the wraiths lie in wait
For a fool like Xandra to undo their fate,
Now, it seems, even Neopets can be
Like the wraiths, the wraiths,
They become monstrosities
So you should be wary
While out in the twilight,
For it may be
Your last moments seeing the light....

Majesty's Request
by Lilahne_aluoki
Fountain Faerie, visit me,
Lovely lady of the pools,
Sit, and sup, and sip hot tea,
While we chat and time unspools,
Talk, and remember shared years,
Sigh, and share your hopes and tears
Fountain Faerie, tell me true...
Whisper what you dare not say,
Gauche guests you've come to rue,
Vain visitors that fail to stay,
Warm welcome here, my dearest friend,
Harrowed hearts will come to mend
Fountain Faerie, beloved sister,
Patient protector of the water,
Dark discontent you never whisper;
From dreary duty you never falter,
Joyously your job you do;
Cheery colors for the chosen few
Fountain Faerie, fear not to rest,
Here, high above the bustling streets
In innocence, from all bequests
From favored 'pets you've yet to greet
For trying times have been foreseen...
Mind my advice, your friend, your Queen

Birthday Anxiety Induced By Wanted Crooks
by Iljanmw
The Meerca Brothers are outlaws
Who manufacture glue,
One in a red cap, the other in blue,
Causing trouble through and through,
Always under constant judicial review!
With a reputation as
The world's most famous prison escapees,
Picking a lock is as easy for them
As reciting their ABCs,
Don't forget they have
An associates degree in thievery,
And that their targets are often
Prominent Neopians and bourgeoisie!
Once they tried to steal
The Breadmaster's secret cake,
But one of the brothers
Could not resist the bait,
Of the mouthwatering smell
Of doughnuts on silver plates,
And they were soon arrested
By Judge Hog, the head of state!
Heermeedjet and Meerouladen,
The inseparable two,
What's next on their list of things to do?
Rest assured that it's impossible
To bid them adieu,
For their next treacherous mission
Is long overdue!

Xandra's Lament
by Ferroro
I used to rule the world,
Wraiths would rise when I gave the word.
Now in my cage I am alone,
Watching the land through eyes of stone
My cards were all right,
No more worlds of black and white,
Watching my magic's glowing flash
And then watching Faerieland's crash
One minute I held the key,
Then Hanso betrayed me,
Now alone for days on end,
I watch and I plan revenge
I can hear the faeries' cries
Over my darkened purple skies,
Hanso and Brynn are made of granite
And I am the one to rule the planet
As for the reason I can share,
The faeries never really cared,
And they'll be made of stone
Neopets will rule alone
The faeries controlled sky and sea,
But they never heard my pleas,
The artefact would end them all,
Their tyranny would end at the festival
Then Hanso broke in
And forced me to plan again,
A transformation spell away
This would be the day
I had to kill Nox, but that's okay,
He wasn't useful to the world, anyway,
With my magic and my plans,
I had it all in within my hands
Although, to you, I must confess,
The wraiths were just a side-effect,
But we can use them, too!
What the faeries never dared to do...
I hear all your joyous cries
Over my darkened purple skies,
Don't you worry, it won't be long,
But until then just remain strong
As for the reason, I can explain,
The fairies control sun and rain,
But we can do the same
When I am free again
