The Plushie Addict By Gypzye

Violet eyes gaze up at me
With a plea I can't refuse
"No," I say, and try to sound firm,
But she knows it's all a ruse.
She blinks, just once, and a sheen of tears
Shine in her lovely eyes,
A twitch of nose, and then a sound
The most pitiful of sighs.
Her long, soft ears droop hopelessly
O'er a graceful, downy spine,
And though I know it's all an act,
I fall for it, every time.
"All right, all right!" I say, and smile,
And scratch beneath her chin.
"You can stop the 'unloved bunny' act,
You've won the doll--again."
My Aislyne kicked and leaped about,
Her joy quite clear to see,
For I'd agreed to add yet another
Toy to her gallery.
Laughing, I caught her in my arms
And stroked her silky fur
She snuggled close beneath my chin
And softly began to purr.
"You're a spoiled brat," I fondly said,
"And to you it's all a game,
One which, to you, I daily lose
But I love you all the same."
So off we go to buy again
A toy she doesn't need,
And as we enter the Plushie store
Her eyes light up with greed...
To keep that smile on her face
For her purchases, I pay
And know that I'll be scrambling
To play more games today;
I still have money in the bank
She doesn't know of... yet
But someday I'll go BROKE
Buying Plushies for my pet!

Eat Your Musho Mushy Peas
By Miserableillusion

A table full of food!
What is a Kougra to do?
I flutter my Faerie wings,
At all these delightful things!
Candy and cake! Cake and candy!
I reach and reach, but mom says "Wait!"
"Eat your Musho Mushy Peas
And then you can eat all the candy you please.
I want my Kougra to be big and strong,
So he can win in the Battledome."
My girlfriend giggles from across the table
And gobbles up her Musho Mushy Peas...
"Yum!" she says, as if she's pleased!
Yuckie yuck yuck!
Who wants these?
Please mom, no Musho Mushy Peas!
She puts a spoonful on my plate
And watches me closely until each bite is ate.
I want to gag, I want to spew,
But I keep going, one more chew!
All is finished, all is through...
Hand me my cake and candy!
Now for some real food!

Triumph By Eviltwin024

So you're in the Battledome
What do you do?
Your opponent's got fifteen
More hitpoints than you

They step in the ring
Your pet strikes a punch
But their foe knocks them over
With a sickening crunch

Your pet gets right back up
Then trembles in fear
Perhaps they are sensing
That the end is near

But lookit, what's this?
There's a trembling sound
You see your pet charging
Knocking foe to the ground

They're down for the count
You're glad you could see it
The one thing you learn is
Don't give up, believe it!

Chocolate House By Roxygirl1689

What do you say to a Neopet
Who wants a chocolate house?
Well, I'll tell you what I said...
NO!
I wish I could've said yes
But as you might've guessed
This truly put my bank account to the test
I only had 473 neopoints
If you have been shopping
You would know
It costs a thousand NP just for a place
To put your little chocolate house
Try as I might, it was a sad sight
When I didn't have the money
For a chocolate house
I had to go for a cardboard house
Oh, what a shame for my little Neopets
What could I say? It just wasn't the same...
But now I am waiting
For that cardboard room to be done
The only thing I could do was promise
I promised to play Tombola every day
I promised to play games till I had the cash
I promised to buy that chocolate house
Just as I had promised to
Love those little Neopets forever!!!

Battledome By Azuresynesis

All is silent
While forth from the gates come two
A light blue furred Lupe
And a spiteful Blumaroo
There come boos and cheers,
For the battle soon to start
The Blumaroo agile,
While the clever Lupe smart
And from there arose a deafening cheer,
The audience now ready
The fighter's hearts beating,
A slow pace, yet steady

The clash of the starting bell,
Time seemed to stop
For now was deciding time,
Of who was the top
Both fighters pacing,
Around the Battledome slowly
The Blumaroo scanning,
The Lupe crouching lowly
The spectators watched,
Eyes filled with awe
For no one would be quite prepared,
For what they next saw

The Lupe swayed back,
Catching the Blumaroo off guard
Quickly he spun around once,
And speared the fool hard
Blumaroo dazed,
Though showing no signs
He bit down inside hard
And sent forth burning lines
The Lupe watched in awe,
The Blu had quite the power
To bring forth the embers
Like overbearing towers

There was a swift hand motion,
Sent the heat near
The Lupe cowered back,
Showing signs of fear
All was not lost,
For the Lupe would defend
And a quick bite of Negg,
Wounds would soon mend
The Lupe rose slowly,
A bit crushed in pride
Then leapt at the Blumaroo,
In a gallant-like stride

But soon the Lupe had blurred,
And henceforth disappeared
The Blumaroo stood silent,
While scanning for what flames seared
Lupe there was not,
But a sudden pain had hit
And sent the Blumaroo packing,
To where the Lupe now sit
With evil grown intent,
The Lupe had looked down
The Blumaroo beaten,
And gave a timid frown

But chivarly truely
Wasn't lost as we'd thought,
A paw given to the Blumaroo,
And up he had got
A cheer from the crowd
As the gladiators bowed
And each to their trainers,
Whom looked upon them proud
The Battledome is empty now,
The inside dark as night
But soon to be lit again,
For there's always the next fight....
