What Is In A Well-Named 'Pet?

You turn them away from your doorstep,
And shoo them when they beg from The Pound.
With names like pookiepoo_576 
And xX_1337_XX
You find them unlovable, 
And pass them with out merit.

But what do you define
As a lovable 'pet?

Should they have names 
Like Hercules and Bystander -- 
And, by that trait, be ten years old?
Or have odd spellings, 
Like Kaikke and Reinbaugh?
Should they be CAPITALISED?
Or all lowercase?
Should they be named as you can read them,
Or have a name in Welsh 
That you must ask what it means?

What makes up a well named 'pet,
And why should it matter?

Invisible Draik?

Oh, for an invisible Draik, 
The 'pet I wish existed:
One I want for a reason nearly twisted;
Draiks are proud, their owners loud,
I’d like a lot to differ from that crowd.
I have a name for one in consideration
One I dare not publish for fear
That a reader may perform imitation,
The highest form of flattery, I know, my dear.
But I do apologize; I am feeling selfish.
I like my concept for its hidden glory
A companion unseen, but has one wish,
That people would believe in him and his story.
He doesn’t know if he’s there or not
He’s barely something, if anything, at all.
If he’s more than nothing, he’d like a lot
For people to notice him 
And call that name I still won’t say.
I just hope TNT will make a Draik my way.

Why must there be a jelly Chia?
He is blocking my way

I'm standing at the ready,
Yooyu in hand -- I crouch low,
Feigning a left, then a right,
Kicking arena dust up to inhibit his vision,
I look for an opening...
Then SHOOT!

Why must he have been there,
Right where I had planned to throw?
He moves like an oversized, yellow phantom,
One moment there, the next... elsewhere!
The Yooyu bounces off his jiggly belly
As he laughs and laughs and laughs.

Jelly Chia, jelly Chia,
I throw again at the jelly Chia,
Thinking the brains in my head
Must outmatch the jelly that fills his.
I throw...

BOUNCE!

Think again.

Jelly Chia, jelly Chia,
Why must he always win,
That jelly Chia?
Can't he give a guy a break?!?

Just one goal, mister jelly Chia?
I promise to then leave your goal alone.

His harsh cackling filling my ears,
Reducing me to tears,

A Hiatus Apology

To Margo, Miko, Marine, and Ronny,
I bestow my apology.
You see, I don't know in how long
I haven't seen you; I know it's not so cool.
So much work and so much stress,
I bet you could barely guess
That I had to deal with such a mess,
Filled with work and this thing called school.
Because of this, I easily forgot
about you guys, believe it or not...
And I just thought 
That you guys were in perfect control.
But here it is, many months passed,
And I no longer have any class
For summer has made its full clasp
Upon my daily toll.
Dying of hunger, forgetting my name,
I'm upset that things aren't the same,
Those happy days that daily came...
That go-to attitude.
I'm sorry I wasn't there for your B-days,
And wasn't there every step of the way,
And I just forgot about this place...
But I want to make it up to you.
We can play games, or shop at stores,
We can dress-up and play sports,
We can do anything you want 
And so much more,
More than you'll ever know,
For I have no work, but my total attention
Is on you four; I'll make an intervention.
And I need you remember, 
I will, to you, mention...
