The Haunted Faire
by Kuroge

Gather 'round for festivities,
so spooky yet so tantalizing,
with a scare at every corner,
the faire is truly galvanizing.

As you walk through the mist
there is plenty of recreation,
to cure you of your boredom,
or to just vent some frustration.

Dunk your head into a barrel,
and try your luck for an apple,
you may bob something nice,
if you don't think it's a hassle.

Grab some menacing mallets,
and help put down the ghosts,
participate in the Hijinks and
you have something to boast.

Look out for more to come
in this haunted hour
for something that might
just make you hide and cower.

Rubbish Dump Rhyme
by Maya100

The bravest souls in Neopia
Gather in a special place each day.
Where is this, you might ask?
It's the Rubbish Dump, hooray!

Filled with yucky, putrid rubbish,
Nothing here is nice or sweet.
The smell is really something else.
A cross of rot and sweaty feet.

The garbage is piled high and wide!
Why don't you take a gander?
The goods here are really special,
The rarest in the land here!

Where else can you find Zeenana Peels,
Rotten to just the right degree?
Oh! Their skin such a lovely brown,
It's really quite pretty, come see!

All the different rotting fruits,
They create art of so many colours!
There really is nothing quite like it,
Beauty matched by no other!

Please, next time you have a moment,
Come and visit our lovely dump.
I promise you won't be disappointed!
It's fun, don't be a grump!

From A Harmless Apple Lantern
by Origamiorangejuice

I am an Apple Lantern,
so popular and sweet.
You can serve me up with ice cream
for a quick and tasty treat.

They say that I look menacing.
This is just my friendly grin.
Scary Apple Lantern Chair?
I've never heard of him.

No, really I'm quite friendly,
not creepy or withdrawn.
And, you'll need me for decor,
since the pumpkin patch is gone.

But that's just what I heard;
it had not to do with me.
I'm just an Apple Lantern,
as gentle as could be.

You still won't let me in?
Then, I'll tell you why you should.
...'Cause things for you end badly
when we rule the Haunted Woods.

The Lab Ray Distortion
by Lacy861

As the metal begins to whir
I can feel a sudden change occur
My body begins to twist and turn
And I can feel a white hot burn
I’ve been changed by this lab ray
And my mind is in complete disarray

I try to figure out what I have become
My heart begins to beat like the sound of a drum
And off a window I see a glint
It was so clear I didn’t even need to squint
My body now has a shiny metal exterior
That old squishy body is inferior

This world is within my reach
I can already hear my victory speech
Just thinking about it
Makes everything seem small
And even brings me to a crawl
But wait, is this a glitch?
Or did somebody hit the power switch?

Sophie's Meowclops
by Ndfaerie

Sophie, the clever witch Ixi,
leans over her black cauldron, mixing.
Light of the swamp moon
casts it's spooky glow,
over the mix of this and that,
including soup of toe.

A little more this, a little more that,
she reaches for her final ingredient --
the almost gummy rat.
Her Meowclops licks his lips
as he impatiently waits,
hoping dear Sophie
might spare him a taste.

Satisfied Sophie bent over her brew,
her oversized witch's hat slightly askew,
the potion was finished,
she thought to herself,
then went to put the recipe book
back on its shelf.

The Meowclops peered over
the large mixing pot,
a delicious meal being
exactly what he sought.
Without thinking twice,
he gobbled the goo,
unaware of just what
the dangers her potion might do.

Within a matter of seconds,
the results became clear,
he had become a slimy Slorg
and shivered with fear!
Sophie came back
and received such a fright,
that a potion to reverse the magic
kept her up through the night.

Light of dawn peered
through the house, swamp style,
as the next potion was complete,
for which Sophie did smile.
She gave it to the unfortunate Slorg,
who downed the mixture
in a huge mighty "glorg."

To the form of the Meowclops
it did return,
and the lecture from Sophie
was quiet and stern.
"Do not drink the potion again,"
she implored,
"For now on only eat
what falls to the floor."

So now the Meowclops paces around,
waiting for some spooky food
to drop to the ground.
And even though Sophie
needs lots of items for her stew,
she doesn't mind occasionally dropping
an ingredient or two.
