Beginnings
By Larkspurlane

It began on a shore,
A Kougra wandering by the reddening light
Of a sun sinking sea-deep
To join the wreckage of a city
That once was --
It began on the breeze,
A Grarrl clinging to a bending palm
Amidst salty spray, and drinking
That which transformed her into a faerie,
A gleaming gift from the skies --
It began with the hot seethe of fire,
A Korbat's candle games,
Till dusk and flames
Dipped her in gold --
It began with a quake
That shattered all things,
Saddling a Zafara with the
Burdens of this world --
It ends as a story,
New songs for new seasons,
Swept up in a dash of beauty,
And existing only in memory.

Remains of Xandra's Library
By Carrotbreath

When Xandra became stone,
Her library became my own.
To myself I kept the key,
Books for only me to see.

But it again became open to all,
when the bookworms began to bawl.
Soon: unreturned books; look this up;
please keep it down; put that back;
I said keep it down; you've ruined it;
unpaid fees; BE QUIET!

Unable to continue to fend,
I'll have to bring this to an end.
Understanding Xandra like never before,
I grabbed the keys and locked the door.

Stood on the stool to put
the last book back;
Suddenly, it fell down!
But my feet never touched the ground.

Jubble Bubble!
By Lollypopxz and Rainfable

There once was a Shoyru from Maraqua,
The underwater kingdom renown for fishy culture
And awfully fearsome storms.

You would expect one who lived in such a place
To be tough and able like a warrior.
It's an almost laughable phrase to describe Kelby.

If anything, he was far from it.
Kelby would often skip his training school,
Claiming illness and other half-hearted excuses.

He would run away to a playground far away
To float blissfully with the foamy white bubbles
That formed as if by magic all around him.

"Child's play!"
Adults would tsk, shaking their heads with disapproval.
"Just a silly game!"

But who knew, oh, who knew
That today Kelby is a star
Of the popular Neopian game Jubble Bubble.

His perseverance saw his passion to fruition,
Blossoming into fame and glory.
So once in a while when you have the time,
Why not pop over and give it a spin?

The Disease: Scourgies
By Torrie29

Diseases here,
Diseases there --
Where did the Scourgies come from?
It wouldn't just be there.

I hope it will be cured;
I hope it will be now.
It's hard to take care of diseases
When no one can figure out how.

Oh, how I wish that the cure would come
Now, not another day.
It's hard to cure my Neopets,
Because I can't cure them by myself.

But it comes naturally
Anytime, anyplace,
And still asking worriedly
For my friends to help.

The cure will be found for sure;
I just need to wait and see. To be sure
It's hard to have a disease
That can't be cured if not known.

So I'm waiting for the cure of the Scourgies.
I'm just waiting, now and see
Playing for a while
Until my Neopets are free.

Getting rid of this sickness will be very hard,
But I'll wait until there is a permanent cure,
So I'll just wait and see, to be ready and sure,
The Scourgies will end soon enough, you'll see.

Waiting until the cure is done,
Now I think my Neopets will be free.
Goodbye, Scourgies, goodbye,
Please don't come back anymore.

Daily Dare Coming to an End
By Heleentjeuh

The Daily Dares are coming to an end,
And believe me, they were time well spent!
Giggling, shouting, screaming, and more,
Trying to finally get that high score.

I never failed, not yet, that's right,
But every challenge is a true fight --
A fight against nerves, twitching, and sleep --
It's the first place that I want to keep.

I will beat them all, all but one day,
I'll be somewhere else, no computer to play.
That means I will be one prize short --
Too bad it's a mission, I can't abort.

I started it then and will finish it soon,
Even if I have to play all afternoon.
Ari will even take a bow for me,
'Cause the champion is what I will be!
