Autumn in Meridell
Rainbow spectrum, falling leaves,
In colours, swirling down.
Crimson, gold, and tangerine,
Soft hues of tawny brown.
The castle cast in golden light,
As sun sets, early 'eve.
Ever cooler grows the wind,
And through the boughs doth weave.
Ixi who did roam the land
Note grass that drifts to gold.
The realm in colours, brilliant, soft,
As autumn does unfold.
Turmaculus a scarf will knit
To warm him in the night.
Cheese doth ripen, seasons well,
Then rolling, takes to flight.
Within Illusen's sacred realm,
Once jade, the brilliant glade.
Yet as the season shifts so slight,
Bright tones will slowly fade.
To world of crimson, tangerine,
Of fawn-toned brown and red.
A change will come to Meridell,
As fall shall slowly spread.
The Autumn Garden
The crisp wind blows,
Scattering leaves around,
Pieces of bright yellow
Drift gently to the ground.
The Autumn Sunset Daisies
Flutter in the breeze,
While rustling in the air comes from
The orange birch trees.
Autumn bushes dance around,
Their leaves bright, furry.
Bonsai trees in the garden
Swirl in a golden flurry.
Finally, in the distance,
There is an autumn pond,
Its waters calm and quiet
When viewed from far beyond.
The Autumn garden shows us
How lovely things can be.
We'll frolic in the glowing leaves,
Celebrating with glee.
The Autumn Dance
Nature's chilled breath dips and sways:
wafting through trees, as silent as a sentinel.
Encouraging leaves, brightly dressed for the season
to let go of branches and fall where they will.
In woodlands' confetti, she confidently dances:
an unadorned Usul of remarkable grace.
Her rust-brown dress swirls about her:
a look of simple, undiluted joy upon her face.
An autumn pumpkin drum deeply thumps,
keeping a steady, monotonous beat.
An autumn horn and guitar provide the melody,
reflected in her agile hands and nimble feet.
Each year she leaps and twirls among the trees,
leaping as if trying to jump into the sky.
It is a celebration of time moving forward,
and to the summer it is goodbye.
Apple Bobbing Bart
Careful, concise, bustling with banter,
He paces around his stall with joy --
A mirth almost too real to exist,
As if coated by slime en route to reality.
"Step right up..."
He purrs and he pats the head of any child
And bows too deep for any folk,
Yet still he laughs when they emerge:
Water-soaked faces, sunken in defeat,
Hair sticking to their foreheads and fur --
matted with the bugs he never bothered
To remove from the water -- much like the apples.
"Step right up!"
He wails, gliding from victim to victim,
The odd child walks away with a goodie bag,
And then one says --
"Sir, where did you get that hat?"
And just like that, his face goes grim,
Animation fades, his smirk becomes grimace.
The question casts a shadow on the whole faire.
Autumn falls and as the wind calls,
Leaves clamber up fences and walls.
It's a time when green turns to brown,
And when gardeners rake leaves with a frown!
Autumn falls with a burning intensity,
While trees lean forward in sheer propensity.
It's a time of the year when colours change,
To crimsons and browns, a whole new range!
Autumn falls at drastic speed,
This is where things start to take heed!
Feel the wind press against your face,
And then feel your feet quicken in their pace.
Autumn falls and covers the ground,
Walking on the leaves makes a crunching sound.
It's a time of the year where a whole new scene
Arrives really quickly, if you know what I mean!
Autumn falls and it falls but once a year,
And then after that, winter will be oh so near.
Feel the changes begin to start,
And then feel the quickening speed of your heart!
For winter is here, a layer of snow is on the land,
It is almost like waving a magic wand!
Autumn is changed by winter in a night,
Oh, what an oh so wonderful sight!
