Hungry Skeith
By Autotune

in here it is quiet monotony;
chug chug chug chug
goes the conveyor belt,
up and down and around
steel beams and grey walls
creeping with rust.
in here the machinery whirrs;
chk chk chk chk
go the ceiling fans,
stirring up stale air
choked with dust.

and the conveyer belt chugs
and the ceiling fans whirr
as the boilers boil right over,
as gelatin solidifies and wobbles
out of its mould;

in here it is almost still,
devoid of life and colour.
in here it is silent still,
with mere whispers of machinery.
chug chug chk chk
chug chug chk chk
up, down, and all around
chug chug chk chk
CHUG CHUG CHK CHK --
and the jelly comes,
parading out, one line
of solid, edible colour,
travelling up, down, all around.

so follow the conveyor belt
as it chugs around the factory;
then stop at the largest room
and wonder what it's for;
witness yourself

the unmistakable sounds
of gleeful chomping, greedy gulping;
in this factory that's somehow...
(chug chug chk chk)
silent no more.

Bonju's Lament
By A_greenparrot

I was once Neopia's biggest star.
I had a secret that nobody could guess.
I said "no" to all attempts to find my avatar,
But then one sad day I had to say "yes."

The answer to my puzzle rings clear as a bell;
No more will people drop things in my pot,
Instead they are intrigued by the Wishing Well.
There's a new avatar that no one has got.

How long must we wait, a week, a month, a year?
Before this curious secret is found?
This mystery gives me a certain fear --
Could it take even longer for people to get it down?

I was always the hardest and most rare,
But my challenge has been replaced.
Now I'm a Blumaroo with no one's care,
But I'll never forget how fame tasted.

A City Long Lost
By Sweetpotatoesoryams

Just as the water rose to meet
The shore, so serene, so jagged;
Few miles west, the land was ragged,
Empty, with litter strewn through streets.

Geraptiku, a land left cold:
Devoid of Neopian life,
Evidence shows your constant strife,
Yet your remains were left to mould.

Oh! How the passages of time
Caused your sharp facade to crumble!
Your youth, grand. Your future, humble.
Such corrosion should be a crime!

Your gates once were so welcoming,
As if waiting for one to see.
Sadly, now, we would disagree:
Your state is quite unbecoming.

What drives you? Motivates you? Why
Do you stay? Are you waiting still?
A god, perhaps? Or to instill
Fear to innocent passerby?

What object so important could
Warrant such a strong protection?
Gold, jewels. A priceless collection?
No one knows what you have withstood.

Geraptiku, Geraptiku,
A city lost to the ages,
Neglected, left by the sages;
Hold dear what you were victim to --

An age forgotten by our time.

Neopian Battlefield Legends
By The_hoshi_pixi

A fight of destiny
Two warring lands
A game of strategy
Of Meridell and Darigan

Resource management
With quick war wits
Medieval battlements
To get least hit

Military precision
A battle like chess
Stop the invasion
With non-stop finesse

Hit pause
Place good towers
Find their flaws
Raise their powers

An epic campaign
Each level harder
But to your disdain
You can't go farther

Half battles won, full game lost
Laugh, smile, it's fun worth the cost.

An Autumn Breeze
By Amethyst_81

A gentle wind has blown
Into Neopia today,
To carry on its playful wings
The summer's warmth away.
For time has come for fading sun
To lay its rays at ease,
And make room in the spotlight for
The brilliant autumn leaves.

Such unbeforeseen artistry,
Bright jewels adorn the land,
As if the trees themselves
Were painted by Illusen's hand.
Magical her palette,
Seamless blend of every hue,
Each leaf a tiny masterpiece,
That gleams with morning dew.

Like slivers of a rainbow,
They do flutter to the ground,
Until the playful wind again
Doth twirl them 'round and 'round.
Now dainty dancers in the air,
They taunt the bare-boughed trees,
As light as carefree laughter,
Carried on an autumn breeze.
