The month of Relaxing doth come to close,
A well-earned rest it was,
But now the month to swim draws near,
And all of the world is abuzz.
Classes are out at the Neoschools,
Farmers must harvest their crops,
Barbecues, parties, and picnics are planned,
It's time to pull out all the stops.
The shores of Maraqua are teeming with life,
As vacationers flock to the sea,
A city of sand castles built in a day,
Bright kites on a breeze flutter free.
Colourful flowers spring up through the land,
Beautiful gardens renewed,
Weewoos sing ballads of devotion,
As delicate young hearts are wooed.
Competition is fierce in the Altador Cup,
Each team battles hard for the win,
On Mystery Island, the Myncies prepare
For a volleyball match to begin.
Cool summer nights are the day's perfect end,
On a bed of sweet grass you may lie,
And dream of the fun that tomorrow doth hold,
As fireworks light up the sky.
Lost Desert: Victory
Ancient heart of sand and time,
with secrets spun in each silken shard.
Wars fought -- wars lost and won.
Wispy ghosts of heroes past
surface to grant those who approach
Memories of foregone hopes.
Sun rays glimmer off the golden pyramids,
symbols of the grander of past endeavours.
Fruit plump and ripe,
perfect for consumption,
but die in the velvet night.
The tolls of war sound again.
The cheers for greatness rise again!
For Lost Desert, they cheer.
Victory is near!
Victory is here!
The Altador Cup is here...
Summer in Neopia
The final bell of Neoschool
Means it's time for parks and swimming pools,
Seeking shade and staying cool --
It's summer in Neopia.
Book a beach vacation on Mystery Isle;
Forget the office, leave the work in piles,
Just kick back, relax a while,
It's summer in Neopia.
Perhaps, if he is very smart,
The Lutari with the ice cream cart
To warmer climes will yet depart
This summer in Neopia.
What a happy time of year this is
No more spring mud, nor yet fall's leafy mess.
Of winter's bitter chill we can only reminisce,
For it's summer in Neopia.
This season, too, will quickly pass
So savour it and make it last.
Seek the sun and in its warm rays bask
While it's summer in Neopia.
Battle for the Cup
Eyes fixed, ears perked,
Hear Neopia scream and cheer!
Wave the banners, it's now time --
The Altador Cup is finally here!
Rising to power with fate in hand
Is shadowy Darigan Citadel,
Yet Faerieland's not gonna miss the Cup:
Who will win and who will fail?
Coming up next is Terror Mountain.
Oh yes, Brightvale scores another goal!
Shenkuu's not gonna give up the fight.
Teams, be careful -- friend or foe?
Maraqua's got their slippery tricks;
Bring out the Grundos, Virtupets!
Moltara's new, but they are strong.
The battle's not over, not just yet!
Sling the slushies, keep em' happy,
While Krawk Island swings...
Dodges Lost Desert...
Yes, they've done it, stood their ground!
C'mon everybody, along with the Techo
Let's make some sound!
The Cup awaits, in splendid glory.
Victory's too sweet to be true.
After the slushies, the crowd, the noise,
Winning isn't everything...
But it will do.
Mysterious Island Kau
I once saw a Kau
That amazed me beyond all.
She was in Mystery Island,
Silent, overlooking the seas.
The wind rustled the flower
In her hair.
With hypnotising swings,
Her sharp necklace moves.
There is an aura of wisdom around her.
As if she's been around a while.
Such sage-like stance,
Such fleeting glimpses.
Her eyes were cold and polite,
Daring me to breach the perfect calm.
Her grass skirt made whispery noise,
Beckoning me closer.
Her white tail flipped back and forth,
Coy, yet warning to keep distance.
Her eyes kept mine.
I took a step forward.
She was gone
With one swift leap.
Sailing into the waters,
Caught by her Maraquan brethren.
Looking back at where I stood, shocked.
She merely smiled.
I dived, I swam, I looked.
But never again did I see the
Mysterious Island Kau.
