Poor, Dead Lucy
By Togepi_forever

A secret place, hidden away,
within Neovia.

A place where those who would cause harm
could be locked away.

The secret place, in darkness cloaked --
A place called Meepit Oaks.

In there, a young Acara nurse
worked from day to night.

Lucy, with her bright red fur,
whom nothing seemed to fright.

But soon darkness would fall upon
the Sanitarium.

Now the place stands cold and dead,
and Lucy is no more.

I went to visit her one day,
for 'til the end she stayed.

But poor, dead Lucy doesn't
even have a grave.

The Zombie Neopets Are Drawing Near
By Pansyparkinson14

Awful groans and grunts are heard
As the zombie pets draw near:
Drooling Krawks and scabbed Peophins:
The sight invokes a stab of fear.

Such blank stares they have --
And such rotting teeth and skin,
So drab and emaciated, too:
So very, very thin.

And don't even mention their clothing;
Their rags are unfashionable at best;
But in a harsher light, they're even worse --
Zombie pets are simply awfully dressed!

The stench is the worst of all.
They completely, utterly reek;
Anyone who catches a whiff of them
Will become wobbly-kneed and weak.

So this is why, when I see them come,
I quiver with terror and fright,
Their looming forms drawing nearer still
Are certainly a terrible sight.

Will they gobble up my brains?
With they eat my Petpet, too?
Will they snarl and bite and hiss at me?
Are these horrid rumours true?

Expecting the worse, it thus comes as a shock,
That these zombie Neopets don't attack:
Why, these Neopets just want to play,
They weren't looking for a snack!

The Way the Lutari Thrives
By Warzia

The Lutari elegantly swims with grace,
splishing and splashing, her thoughts all erased,
as she smiles and laughs, winking and smirking,
blissfully unaware of the danger lurking...

The Jetsam's eyes glint in the shade of the kelp,
blinking and glaring and imagining the yelp,
the pitiful noise his prey will release
as he brings a sudden peace,
to water-land below, no more splashing Lutaris,
no more little girls having fun;
it will all be quiet when she would be shunned,
when she was forced to live to the land above,
when she was pushed on land with kick and shove,
and all peace would return to the water-land below,
nobody would wonder, nobody would woe...

The Lutari is chased along the kelp,
she swims swiftly as she cries for help;
the Jetsam chasing her has his teeth bared,
yet the Lutari only feels a bit scared,
she rushes along the shoreline with stones for paws,
where water reaches sand, she stands with a pause,
watching fin return to place where it belonged,
the Lutari realised that she had been wronged.
This land was the land for her, she thought.
This land was the land for her.

The Festival Ends
By Quillwove

Negg shells lay amongst the grass,
And ribbons 'neath the sun,
The festival is over, now --
But oh, did we have fun!

Chasing Slymooks in the night
And racing 'round the world,
To hunt after elusive Neggs,
What mysteries unfurled!

From Altador to Shenkuu,
And every land between,
In every nook and crevice,
A quest like never seen!

Did you, as well, scour the land,
And chase cheese down a hill?
Did you seek each hidden clue,
Bazaar to Meridell?

And our rewards! So colourful,
Neggs of all shapes and size,
And of all the most coveted --
The avatar grand prize!

My quests and hunts are finished;
No avatar, I fear.
But I weep not, for I had fun --
And there's always next year!

Zafara of Calamity
By Coolsteph281

Lonely sitting under the night,
A blue pelt, its owner blue,
One Zafara, cloaked in fright
On what purpose is true.

Chilling wind and piercing hail
Fleeing on scattered sleet
Snowy gusts and glacial gale
A sneaking danger discreet.

She shivers in the mild night,
Tail wrapped about her knees,
Covered in sheer, anxious fright;
No one answers her silent pleas.

Barely after her eyes shuttered,
The rising breeze shrilly cried.
A yellowed, fallen leaf fluttered;
Her eyes turned, a storm she spied.

A bench left out in powdery white,
More would fall down soon.
A rumbling cloud emerged to sight
Before obscuring the moon.

On and on, further along,
Uncaring of wherever she fell.
This dreadful thing was too wrong;
It was a clouded tale to tell.

A cloak was wrapped about her,
With one gloved paw to guide.
Eyes opened, a room to enter,
Misfortune thought and she sighed.

A bulky, bright Moehog stood near;
Gradually the room came to mind.
It was a sight many would revere --
Judge Hog she managed to find.

Every villain trembles in her path,
A different view of 'frozen in fear'.
Calamitous cold was her wrath,
A happy ending, to be sincere.
