The Second-Hand Shopkeeper Ruki
By Soaringeagle25
An unobtrusive cluttered small shop,
Little more than a hole in a wall,
Resides in the edge of Neopian Plaza...
Don't pass it by, please, stop!
Staffed by a Ruki of cheery yellow,
He darns, patches, and sews.
Giving clothing a second life
Is life's aim for this fellow.
Bespecked in square glasses,
A newsboy cap, and sweater vest,
He clothes Neopia with donations,
And garbs the poorer masses.
Such a noble, altruistic being
Who gains only rare recognition,
Standing shyly by the counter of his store,
While he hands out clothes and sings.

Who Remembers?
By Umbreon_clone
Gone across the land, to near and far,
Your future is something they happily read.
Put a paw into theirs and relax your mind.
Soon, the Aishas' dancing begins to slow.
In this brief interlude, your seer speaks:
"Ever been to a place called 'Neovia'?
Stop by sometime; just follow the signs."
Recalling the events which had once unfurled;
Even those who weren't there have heard the tales,
Much darker than any bedtime story most know.
Evil ghosts of past sorrow; objects possessed;
Monsters of the night, blinded by their desires.
"Best be on your way now, little one."
Escaping from the land of pained memories,
Remembrance isn't something you seek anymore.

Cog's Dream
By Barnowl42
All those in Moltara could see
The usefulness of gears and tin,
But it took a special eye
To see the beauty there within.
Cog came from good mechanic stock
And was quite skilful at her trade.
Yet she dreamed of something more --
Something lovely her hands had made.
By day she worked with effort great
To shape and fashion stone and steel.
By candlelight at night she worked
To take her dreams and make them real.
She toiled long to shape fine clothes
With leather, linen, bronze, and brass,
As practical as they were smart --
Belts of copper, goggles of glass.
Until one day her pile had grown
So high she knew the time was ripe:
She had enough to start her shop
And sell her clothes of gear and pipe.
She gathered round her many chums
At workday's start the very next morn
And said, "Listen, dearest friends,
And your closets I'll adorn!
"The factory is well and good,
But I won't work there anymore!
I hope that you will all come see
The grand opening of my new store."
Her fellows came, and oohed and aahed
And soon 'twas bustling in her shop.
Her wares were soon seen 'round the town
And propelled her craft right to the top.
"So come on in," Cog says now,
"And dress yourself in Moltara's theme
And most of all, remember this:
Like me, you must cling to your dream."

The Kindness of Krawks
By Toujoursetajamais
The fiercest creatures they claim to be,
Those cunning, scary Krawks.
But they are really gentle,
As docile as pet rocks.
Most fear they will be eaten
As a Krawk's delightful meal.
But if they were to meet a Krawk,
They would see that isn't real.
A Krawk prefers clam chowder,
Or perhaps a nice, warm stew.
One thing, though, is certain:
His next meal won't be you.
A Krawk is fiercely loyal,
When kindness is shown to him.
If someone does an act that's kind,
The Krawk will then befriend.
So take this lesson home today,
Don't fear the dark unknown.
Now go search out a lonely Krawk,
And then invite him home.

The Lone Traveller -- Apis
By Jusandboyboy
Up and down the dunes he goes,
Undaunted by the distance he persists.
Spirits low, but never complains,
With burden on his shoulders, he travails.
Rough terrains he knows best;
Deserts and savannas are his friends.
Filled with wisdom, he marches on,
Like a soldier ready to confront his enemies.
Dawn passes and dusk falls;
He halts, pants, and gazes the stars.
Like a lost child he wishes
For a home like many others.
From the horizons he sees light,
The sounds of home are near --
Away with his fear!
He thinks with joy: "I am finally here!"
