Long Nap
By Crazyrowantingbob

I snoozed through Aisha Day,
Gnorbu Shearing Day -- snored.
Kacheek Day flew by,
Buzz Day soared.

Sloth Appreciation Day;
Slept through Elephante Day, too.
I had a 'little' nap,
And the days are through and through.

I slept through thirty-one days,
It was all one big mistake.
After all, it is the month of Sleeping...
And now I'm wide awake!

The Cantankerous Caretaker
By Anjie

Mournful midnight, onyx shroud,
A howl sounds in the dark.
Trees like foes shall call and mock,
The evening cold, so stark.
There, like silent sentinels,
The graves line in a row.
Brittle leaves from fallen boughs,
Dance by them too and fro.

Bobbing lantern like a flare,
A solitary light.
Held by an angry, wobbling soul,
Who stumbles through the night.
"Oi! Who goes there?" comes the cry,
Filled with suspicious rage.
This Yurble cares for hopeless realm,
And has done for an age.

He wanders through the howling wind,
Battles the creaking trees.
All with a temper rather dark,
That nothing would appease!
"Trespassing is not allowed!"
The Yurble bellows out.
"Be gone from here, my pitchfork's sharp!"
Is final, threatening shout.

None seem to know why caretaker
Is such a grumpy soul.
Perhaps a life amongst the graves,
Could take a tiring toll?
Is it knowing all his books
Lay in a dreadful mess?
Records scattered long ago,
(By whom? Try to have a guess!)

Warily he'll glance around,
Through rolling fog and mist.
Lantern shining eerie light,
When hoisted high on wrist.
Pitchfork lowered, shuffles off,
Back to his creaking hut.
A final cranky yell is heard,
Then BANG, the door slams shut.

Potato Counting in Meridell
By Thesquib

There's one, there's another,
And there are a few more,
We'll count them all day and night,
Whilst they sit on the floor.

Extreme or normal, both we'll play,
We'll count them oh so well,
And when we do, we'll get a thrill,
Don't you agree that it's quite swell?

And having counted all of them,
We'll wait with such suspense.
Did we get the number right?
Oh,the waiting is so tense!

What's this, we did? Oh wonder, oh joy!
That really was quite fun,
And so we'll come again some day
To win another one.

But if we didn't, never mind,
We can always try again,
Because the potatoes are always there,
The fun will never end!

Song of the Peophin
By Reggieman721

Clouds hover in the midnight sky
And veil the light of silver moon.
From gentle waves so far below,
One hears a faded, distant tune.

As azure waters swell and flow,
Reflecting sprinkled stars above,
A song rings out from depths of sea:
'Tis voices stirred by time and love.

The Peophins cry their refrain
From nameless muse that fills their hearts.
Though wind and waves their drum do beat,
This song doth reach up to the stars.

It rings out true from age to age,
Regardless of the world elsewhere.
This special day, the Peophins
Release their voices, strong and fair.

No living ear has heard before
A melody so rich and deep.
Each note so frail like water drop,
Tears past and present that they weep.

Upon this night, at darkest hour,
The Peophins break forth in song.
And when sun rises, they return
To depths of sea, where they belong.

The Yellow Koi Sea Sorceress
By Soaringeagle25

Elegant tail and golden scale,
Silk and pearl, deep sea bubble,
Ship's lost plunder and sand pale --
Yellow Koi Sorceress, a ship's trouble.

She calls the doomed ships her abode,
A siren, an enchantress in the least.
Sails meet fate when they cross her road,
Outer breathtaking beauty, inner beast.

Moonbeams bend in water's wake
And play on her gossamer golden fins,
As she counts the booty she will take,
A Neopian nightmare where a ship ends.

A Koi alone and yet well known
For her infamy and dark deed.
Don't be fooled by her moan --
A wise warning, to her you must heed.

Honey-hued scales the water veils,
The world she doth enthrone,
In the brine's depths she will prevail --
Sinister beauty in darkened tone.
