The Ghost Draik
By Dianacat777

Lonely forest, sea of pines,
Leafy expanse of emerald green.
A summer night in utter silence,
Quiet, starlit, and serene.

Yet somehow, it is eerie too,
For there, a life has caved.
Forever naught is the grave
To mark a single life unsaved.

Cyan glow basks leafy brush,
A form revealed by darkest night.
Invisible in sunlight's sheen
But under starshine, ever bright.

Soulful eyes glow, haunted, sad,
Once brightest blue, now dull red.
Memories glitter in deepest depths,
A time before his life had fled.

His wingtips brush the lowest branches,
But the action, he feels not.
Nonexistent, just a shell
Of glimmering blue and scarlet.

He breathes a whisper of silver flame,
Insubstantial, as is most.
Once a Draik of royalty,
But now he's just a ghost...

...And Don't Forget Your Dubloons!
By Shgius

You say that you're headed out soon
To Krawk Island's Golden Dubloon?
Well, here's some advice:
Learn to win at Bilge Dice --
There are players there, morn, night, and noon.

And I'm sure that you already know
Which the tastiest morsels are, so
I won't bore you with that.
Just don't swell up too fat;
The cuisine tends to make bellies grow.

The proprietor there, Captain Hackett,
Wears an elegant red dinner jacket.
But the point is quite moot
Whether you follow suit.
It's your choice; he won't mind if you lack it.

It is possible you won't get in;
When it gets like sardines in a tin --
That is, totally stuffed --
Everyone gets rebuffed.
And in that case, nobody will win.

But in sum: have some fun! You will be
In epicure heaven. You'll see.
You'll no doubt have a ball.
Most important of all,
Make sure something's left over for me!

Koi Troubles
By Scenette

Once a proud city, an underwater dream,
The place that was once Maraqua
Now remains unnoticeable, unseen.
Our daring Koi, a dashing fellow,
One day ventures forth into the ruins.
Relatives worry; he hasn't surfaced as of yet,
But his dastardly doings
Get him into danger once again.
Troubled waters,
Down below the surface of Maraqua,
Caylis, one of the daughters
Of the sea, rescues him from his doom.
He became tangled, partially entwined
Amongst a ravel of seaweed, the seabed
Trying to swallow him so nothing was left behind.
Koi, playful and carefree, unknowing.
He is prone to danger too, were you not aware?
When it is up to the duty of others,
To risk themselves for the Koi
Who cannot think for himself
Then you start to wonder, is it worth it?

The Chomby Genie
By Anjie

Within the confines of the lamp,
He simmers, calm, sedate.
Beyond the brassy, lucid sheen,
Doth Chomby lie in wait.
One swipe to dust an ancient lamp,
Seems the required call.
A wisp of smoke, a twist of fate,
He's standing, proud and tall.

"Three wishes!" comes the bellowed cry,
"I am at your command!"
The Chomby formed of emerald wisps,
Awaits your every demand.
His magic strength doth know no bound,
As spells he'll weave and spin.
Yet the lamp is Chomby's cage,
For he must dwell within.

One wipe to dust that brassy lamp,
And in a haze comes he.
Elongated, rearing neck,
He stretches, quickly free.
"The Chomby Genie doth await!"
Like thunder sounds his voice.
And yet your wishes are just three,
Be wary, make your choice.

The Triumph of Tyrannia
By Brilliance109p

Early morning, simmer soft
Excitement grasps the air,
And all across Tyrannia
The sky is blue and bare.

Golden sun, cast on your light
A bright and gentle ray,
As Tyrannians in merry tones
Exclaim, "Today's the day!"

Sound blasts from the Concert Hall!
As far as one can see --
Celebrations all around
Tyrannia's victory!
Gather, gather Neopians
To the land of dung and stone.
Tyrannia boasts souvenirs
Of rock and straw and bone!

When night does fall and music fades,
Come sit around the fire,
Let all triumphant memories
Stay strong and never tire.
