DIRECTIONS FOR MUTANT TRIFFIN CHEESE BALL:
Mutant Triffin Cheese Ball
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
- 2 can (7 ounces) solid white tuna, drained and flaked( Drain and press out all liquid)
- 6 tablespoons finely chopped red onion
- 10 pimiento stuffed olives, chopped
- 2 to 4 teaspoons prepared horseradish, optional
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce, or to taste
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
-
- 5 tooth picks, 10 pimento stuffed olives, pecans, cashews for trim.
- Red and blue food coloring for color
- Mixed fresh greens for garnish
PREPARATION:
Combine first 7 ingredients. Roll into ball and refrigerate over night. Next day, remove from refrigerator. Mold and shape cheese mixture into Mutant Triffin. I covered my work area with non-stick foil. This made it easier to move the finish character. Refrigerate when done for 1-2 hours. Mix food coloring in a small bowl to make purple. Add 1-2 teaspoons of water to create a wash. Using a pastry brush, paint Triffin desired color. Use a clean paper towel to pat off any excess. Refrigerate for 1 hour. Remove from refrigerator and transfer to serving plate on top of mixed greens. Break tooth picks in half. Slice pimento olives in half. Insert tooth picks into 10 of the olive halves. Assemble 6 halved olives on outside of head for flat eyes, 10 halved olives on toothpicks for raised eyes. Use broken pecans for teeth and cashews for claws. Garnish to individual taste. Arrange Crackers around character on serving plate. Serve and enjoy!
