She opened her eyes wide open. Jhudora’s potion filled Canalia’s mouth, drenching her taste buds with an exquisite flavour.
“Oh sweet Fyora, this is amazing. It’s the best beverage I’ve ever drunk!”, she said.
Jhudora drew a devious smile on her face. “It’s not that great, my dear. I’m glad you liked it”.
Jhudora fluttered her hand to let Canalia know she was blocking the entrance and preventing her from coming into the shop. As she moved away, the dark faerie stepped into the building and took a quick glance at the shop. The bright colours, the insulting amount of flowers, ribbons and all that jazz made her feel nauseous; yet she was keen to stay and watch her magical potion do its job.
A few hours went by, Canalia’s little petpet helpers were distributing food and drinks amongst the faeries. The grand opening was a huge success.
Canalia knocked a little bell to make an announcement while the faeries were eating.
“Hey, everybody. I’m glad you’re all here to celebrate with me; even though the first batch of my products are still being manufactured, they’ll go on sale in a couple of hours” she screamed. “In the meantime, I made special treats for you all to make the wait less painful. I hope you’re enjoying them”. All the faeries looked pretty pleased with the food.
“Oh and I want to give a shoutout to our sister Jhudora”, she added. “She gave me this awesome potion a few hours ago. I mixed it with the fruit punch I prepared, so we could all take a sip from it!”, while she was grabbing the little flask proudly.
Jhudora jumped from her seat and threw her food tray away, spitting what was inside her mouth. “You fool! What have you done?” She bawled while pointing at Canalia.
A strange glow started to emanate from the faeries’ heads. Strand by strand, their hair started falling off of their heads; they all looked at each other astonished as everyone in the room became quickly bald.
Fyora stepped forward, not a single hair covered her head. “Jhudora, what was that flask you gave to Canalia?”.
“Ugh, it’s nothing. It was just a prank but this dumb faerie ruined it”, Jhudora muttered.
“How long will it take for our hair to grow back?”, Fyora questioned her.
“It’ll be back soon, don’t fret!”
The furious faerie Queen screamed “HOW LONG?”.
“Fine, calm down. It’s a simple but unbreakable spell, the cooldown lasts 2 weeks” Jhudora shrugged.
Fyora was fuming until she burst with a fit of unexpected laughter. All of the faeries giggled along with Fyora.
Before crossing the door to go back to the palace, Fyora looked at Jhudora and jeered “Well, it is horrible to be bald but on the bright side. Canalia is going to have a great start”.
Jhudora didn’t understand what Fyora meant immediately.
When Jhudora decided to get back home, after flying a few miles away from the shop, she turned her head and read the sign above the shop and understood Fyora’s ironical laughter, she was mocking her. Jhudora happened to unexpectedly help the new owner of the shop:
“Canalia’s marvellous wigs and hats”.
