Roy sat in the back of the class, waiting for the dismissal bell to ring, not
listening to Miss Lennita drone on and on about the history of Lupe Day. Roy had very little pride in being what he was,
though he had no particular desire to be anything other than a Lupe. He had the usual love of chocolate Chias, of course,
but he had nothing else in common with the other Lupes in his class. They usually stayed away from him, too.
The only one of them who even tried to talk to him during lunches or after school was a
fire Lupe named, appropriately, Blaze. Blaze didn't say much. He probably just felt sorry
for Roy, not that Roy cared either way.
The two of them had developed a routine. Blaze would trot along beside Roy and toss him a chocolate Chia every once in
a while. After a quick thanks, Roy would silently keep walking. Blaze would say something like "Stop that nattering, I
can't hear myself think," or "You talk too much, buddy."
After school that day, they went through the same routine. This time, however, Roy decided to actually say something...

..."Blaze! Watch out!" he shouted. Blaze ducked just in time as the gormball whizzed where
his head had been seconds before.
SPLAT!
The gormball and its contents spilled out all over Roy instead. Fur dripping wet, Roy shook
his head quickly and water went flying in all directions.
Blaze stared at Roy in amazement. "That would've hurt me a lot, being a fire Lupe." He
finally said, "Thanks buddy, I'll go get a towel."
Roy was just as awed. This was the first time anyone had called him a friend or anything to
the tune of that. Suddenly he felt a feeling he had not felt in... Well, that he had never
felt at all. Maybe he and Blaze could be true friends someday...
Maybe, but for now, perhaps it would be best to dry off, Roy thought.
Soon Blaze walked up with the towel. "Oh Roy, what's that?" Blaze asked, motioning towards rays of brilliant light -
and not just from the sun - coming from the sky...

...Roy looked up and also noticed the bright lights in the sky. He felt as if it was calling
him. He shook his head. What a silly thought!
When Roy looked up again the lights had vanished. And so had Blaze!
"Blaze! BLAZE!" Roy yelled out for his would-be friend. Suddenly Roy was sacked from behind
and carried away.
"Let me out! Let me out! I have to find my frie - a fire Lupe!"
Just then, Roy heard a yelp, then a soft thud. Roy opened the sack he was in and inched his
way out. When he was out, Roy looked around to see who had stolen him. In front of the
little Lupe, was a small fire Gelert, on the ground, licking its paw. He was all wet too.
How many gormballs are being thrown these days? Roy thought to himself. Then he remembered Blaze...

...Where did he go? Roy thought to himself.
"Don't try and get away!" said the soaked Gelert, "I may be all wet and weak now, but that
doesn't mean that my friends are."
Roy suddenly looked at his surroundings. There were hundreds of little fire Gelerts around
him, all of them waiting to restrain him if they felt it was necessary.
"Why have you captured me? What do you want? And where is Blaze, the fire Lupe that was
with me?"
Suddenly one of the Gelerts stepped forward, "I am Fire Storm, leader of this tribe of
Gelerts. You and your friend the fire Lupe, have been taken hostage so that you may tested.
Everyone knows how great the Lupes are, but some question whether or not some of the
Lupe species are worthy of their title. You must complete the quest by order of the Queen
of Faeries, and find out who is throwing all of these gormballs, if you fail, you must meet
the consequences..."

..."Wait, I didn't agree to this!" Roy exclaimed, stepping back. His eyes dashed around for
some kind of door or window, but nothing was seen.
"If you succeed, the Queen of Faeries will award you a million Neopoints each, and a faerie
of your choice," Fire Storm continued, ignoring Roy's protests. "There are no rules, as long
as you bring the ones who threw these wet gormballs unharmed. Your quest will begin now."
The same shining light appeared. Roy was caught in rays of yellow and white, until he found
himself staring at the sun.
"Wow, was that a dream?" a voice behind him muttered. Blaze!
"What, the faeries, the quest, the million Neopoints reward?" Roy asked hopefully.
"So it was real!" Blaze gasped. "But... how are we supposed to track the gormball-throwers
down?"
"Er..." Roy looked around the street. There was nothing out of place. Houses, trees, two
Kacheeks racing each other, an Aisha eating a mint Chia pop. Lucy and Justin, the Eyrie
twins, puddles on the floor. Puddles? It didn't rain... So that must mean... "BLAZE! I THINK
I FOUND A CLUE!"...

...When they walked up to the puddles, they found they weren't puddles of water. Instead, they were
puddles of jelly!
"Why would there be puddles of jelly on the ground?" asked Roy.
Just then, a gormball flew through the air and hit Roy on the head. Blaze looked fast enough
and saw the silhouette of a Chia against the sky.
They chased him across the grass, following puddles of jelly all the way, until they came to
a cliff.
"He couldn't have just jumped off," said Roy.
"Look over there!" shouted Blaze.
They walked up to an abandoned Chocolate Factory.
"I think we found another clue, Blaze!" shouted Roy.
Slowly, they opened the door...

...A narrow patch of sunlight from outside cut a path into the dark, unused factory. The
darkness gave way to shadow monsters of the once used machinery. As their eyes slowly
adjusted to the darkness, Roy's ears pricked up.
He whispered to Blaze, "I think I hear something, in the back, behind that huge conveyor.
You go around the right, I'll go around the left, and we'll run whatever it is to the
middle. On three - one, two, three!"
The Lupes parted ways and slowly stalked the unseen Chia. As they rounded the conveyor and
started slinking towards each other, there was a clang near the middle. They ran full speed
to meet around a trap door.
"Where does that go?" Blaze wondered aloud as Roy peered over the edge, sniffing into the
densely lit tunnel.
"Well, there really is only one way to find out." With that being said, Roy jumped down into
the tunnel, with Blaze on his tail. They slowly crept towards the source of the light...

...It seemed to be getting more slippery as they crept closer. Suddenly, the tunnel veered
off to the left and ended up in a large cave. Roy motioned to Blaze to stay back, then
peeked cautiously over a boulder. What he saw amazed him. There was... OH NO, it's the
Jelly Chia standing in front of a huge stack of wet gormballs!
Roy slowly motioned to Blaze to come forward. Blaze crept up beside him, their shoulders touched. Roy felt Blaze's
involuntary shudder when he saw the Chia and his horde.
Suddenly, to their astonishment, the Jelly Chia kind of... well... faded? Suddenly, it
disappeared altogether. Instead, there was a small Purple Chia.
"Muhuhuh... Mahaha.... Muhahahaa *cough* *cough* Drat... Uh... Muhahaha AHHHHHHH!" In the
effort to get his laugh right, the Chia had hit his tower of gormballs, and it collapsed around
him. After the dust, er, water settled, there was silence for a few moments, then, from
the middle of the pile, came muffled sobbing.
*Sniff* *Blub* "Why couldn't I have been born evil? I make a terrible member of the Chias
Against Lupes Guild... I like Lupes, kind of, and I can't laugh and I ruin everything. Oh
Whyyyyyyyy!" He sobbed.
Roy couldn't help himself. "Why did you join, then?"
*Sniff* "Who's there? I mean, WHO DARES ENTER THE LAIR OF THE PURPLE CHIA!..."

...Roy rolled his eyes, and then gave the small Purple Chia a doubtful look.
The Chia stood up as tall as he could, marched up to Roy and pointed a finger at him. "I
will bring about your destruction for entering my lair! Whahahahahahaha!" he said, throwing
back his head and nearly falling over...
Roy figured this was the Purple Chia's attempt at intimidation, but the Chia only came up to
Roy's knees, and Roy and Blaze had to put a paw over their mouths to stiffle their laughter.
The Chia looked furious though, so Roy and Blaze put on more "serious" faces. Just then,
Roy remembered why he was there to begin with...
"I'm sorry to interrupt your little escapade here," he said "but I have to take you to the
leader of the Fire Gelerts so that I can finish my Quest." He lowered his head to
look at the little Chia whom he had come so far for.
The Chia backed off a bit, then yelled, "Take me then - if you think you can!" he finished
with another crazed laugh. He then turned and ran, but just then...

...WHAM!
The Purple Chia, so intent on laughing, hit his head on a low (very low) pipe and was
knocked to the ground.
Blaze and Roy stopped laughing and raced over to see if he was all right (don't worry Chia
lovers, he was).
"Are you alright?" asked Roy, sorry that he had laughed at the Chia.
The Purple Chia gingerly felt the bump on his forehead. He seemed different somehow.
"Ouch! That really hurt... Where am I? Who are you guys?" he asked, completely dazed.
"You're in an abandoned Chocolate Factory! I'm Blaze and that's Roy" explained the Fire Lupe.
"Oh, I'm Thyassa!" He grinned toothily.
"THYASSA? The world-renowned Gormball player?!?" the Lupes yelled together.
"That's right!"
"Then... then... then why did you want to get rid of us? I had no idea that you joined the Chias
Against Lupe Guild!" said Roy.
"What? I have nothing against Lupes! How did I get here anyway and why are gormballs
everywere?"
The Lupes looked at each other, then they heard a strange noise. The looked to the mouth of
the cave and saw none other than the Jelly Chia himself!
Thyassa looked extremely mad. "I knew it! You're the one that was throwing the amnesia
gormballs! That's why I'm here, right? Well you're going to pay for it!" he exclaimed.
With Roy and Blaze helping him, Thyassa was able to hurl an amazing number of
gormballs at the Jelly Chia and finally, he was gone...
"Roy? Roy! ROY! Pay attention this instant!" yelled Miss Lennita. Roy the Lupe lifted his
head off the desk.
"Huh? Wha...?" he stammered. Darn! It was only a dream! sighed Roy.
"Blaze! You too!" came the holler of the teacher.
"What? Oh, erm, okay, I'm sorry Miss Lennita," came Blaze's answer.
Suddenly, there came a knock at the door. It opened, and the Principal came in. "Excuse me
for a moment Miss Lennita, but could I have Blaze and Roy for a moment?"
The teacher nodded and Blaze and Roy followed the Principal down the hall. He stopped at
the door of the gym.
"You go in..." he said and left.
Dazed, the Lupes pushed open the door to find...Fire Storm and all the Fire Gelerts!
"You did it, so here is your one million Neopoints!" Fire Storm said, and handed them a huge bad
of NP.
"Hey! Looks like it wasn't a dream after all!" Roy said excitedly to Blaze.
"What dream?"
