Today was the grand re-reopening of Sockoi's shop and everything was going well. She had
all her items stocked and arranged in such a way that it was very pleasing to the eye, and she had enough NP in her
till just in case she had to give out some change. Though she didn't always make the best decisions in shop stock,
Sockoi was very confident this time around, "If today goes off without a hitch, I will open up a chain of my stores
all around Neopia and I will be the richest Neopian to ever walk the planet... I'll be bringing in so much NP that
my shop will make the Hidden Tower look more like the Soup Kitchen... there will be no stopping me... my shop will be a
household name--Sockoi's Scorched Food Emporium..."

...Sockoi grinned. She was so clever! As she hung up a banner in the front window, a few pets started rushing to see
the latest shop. A little yellow Wocky pushed his way to the shop's front door and squeezed inside. Sockoi put on
a fake smile. "Oh, you're my first customer!" she exclaimed to the young shopper. "You get a free sample of my delicious
food!"
The shy little pet glanced up at her and said, "Thank you!"
Sockoi nodded politely. "Yeah, you're welcome," she remarked as she cut up some burnt BBQ pizza. She slipped some on
to a plate. "Here, you go. Freshly scorched!" Sockoi told her customer.
Everyone watched in silence as the Wocky raised the pizza to his tiny mouth. He chewed. Swallowed--wait! His eyes
were bulging, and his face became very pale! BLECH! Everybody watched in horror as the Wocky spat out the scorched
pizza. Coughing and sputtering, he turned to Sockoi and said, "That pizza...*choke*...is awful!"
Sockoi smiled and said, "Duh, I know..."

..."It's burnt! That's the point. A whole EMPORIUM of burnt food! It's genius, pure genius!" Sockoi giggled at
her cleverness and then busied herself with more samples for the other customers, but when she turned back the shop
had emptied. There was no one there.
Sockoi frowned slightly and put the plate back on the counter, then with a cheery smile rationalized to herself,
"They've probably just run off to tell all of their friends."
And sure enough, in less than one hour there was a huge crowd of Neopets coming her way. "Oh my!" Sockoi thought.
"I'll need an awful lot of charred samples!" Finally the first wave of pets came through the door, and Sockoi put
on an enormous, painfully forced smile and opened her mouth to welcome them, when they all fell to the ground laughing.
Sockoi clicked her jaw shut and frowned again. Well, this was odd...

..."Scorched food," one Shoyru managed between giggles, "I can't believe someone actually is trying to SELL that
junk!"
"The only time I have scorched food," a Zafara added, "is when I accidentally burn it and then I throw it away."
Sockoi felt her face flame as the laughing continued. "You just wait and see!" she yelled, "I will be famous!
And rich! I will! And all of you will be coming to me for a job!"
She ran behind her counter, trying unsuccessfully to ignore their laughter. Wave after wave of Neopets came by
to laugh at the concept of charred food, rather than to buy something burnt. Sockoi felt like a failure as she
closed her shop for the night.
"Maybe I was just being foolish. Imagine, me being rich," she mumbled to herself.
"It's not as foolish as you think," a soft voice intoned nearby.
Sockoi spun around to face the speaker...

...it was her sister speaking. "I like burnt food," she said. "Everyone from where I live loves it."
"Where do you live, anyway?" Sockoi had never been in good relations with her sister, and hadn't bothered to
keep track of where she went.
"I live in a faraway land," her sister answered in a cute voice. "So far away I can't pronounce its name."
Sockoi rolled here eyes and turned away.
"No really!" her sister pleaded. "All you have to do is come with me and take your entire stock with you!"
Sockoi looked at her sister strangely. Maybe she was telling the truth...

...The next day, hoards of people were again standing outside the door to Sockoi's shop, peering in. A baby
Blumaroo shouted, "There's nothing there... Where has it all gone?"
Mystified, the other Neopets looked at one another.
"Surely she hasn't sold some?" a blue Quiggle piped up.
"Maybe she ate it all herself!" a fat little Chia joked.
All a little bit sad that they had lost their new game of trying to work out which piece of food was most burnt,
the Neopets felt very sad. At that moment, the Wocky (who now finally felt better after his accident with the
burnt BBQ pizza) gave a yelp, "Look! There's a note here, and it's sort of burnt too. I can hardly read it. It
says..."

...Adios, all you sillies! I'm going to make a fortune in TYRANNIA! The Tyrannians are even going to have a burnt
food omelette! You may laugh, jeer, and sneer, but Tyrannians LOVE BURNT FOOD! Tyrannians have good taste, not like
YOU!!! One day I will be sitting on a dung throne, eating a DELICIOUS burnt piece of pizza, and you all will beg for
a job! HAHAHAHAHA!
Love,
SOCKOI
p.s. Don't try to follow me :x
The little Wocky began to cry. "We were so mean to her! Burnt food isn't THAT bad (well maybe it is, but that's
not the point!) Oh, BOO-HOO!!"
Meanwhile, somewhere in Tyrannia...

...Sockoi was making a great living by selling the burnt food to the Tyrannians. They came to her shop every
day and told her that they were glad that she had moved to town.
Just as Sockoi was getting ready to close the shop for the night her sister walked out of the back room. She
had a slight smile on her face. "Sister, I have been thinking lately and if I wouldn't have brought you here
you wouldn't be making all that money. So I was wondering if you could share the profits with me?"
Sockoi thought about this a moment and realized that her sister was right but if she gave some of her money to
her sister then she won't become rich fast and it would take longer. "How much of the money were you thinking
about?" Sockoi asked.
"Half and Half. That's only fair," Sockoi's sister said.
"You don't make the food or anything. You just sit in the back and watch the Tyrannians come in and out, giving
me compliments on how good MY food is. Not your food. If you want some money I will give you 5%. That's all that
I'm going to say. Good night." Sockoi turned her back on her sister and went to the back room to go to sleep.
Her sister was amazed that Sockoi wouldn't give her more of the money so she came up with a plan to...

...start her own burnt food place. She was going to make better food than her sister.
"I am clever," said her sister, grinning a sneaky grin. So her sister quickly wrote a note and left it on her
bed. She then took some food and walked out the store. "Time to start a my own life," she said.
5 days later
Sockoi's shop was empty, so empty you could hear a pin drop and find it right away. "Why don't I get any
costumers anymore?" Sockoi asked herself. Just then a tiny Grarrl entered her shop. "OH! A customer!" Sockoi
said, perking up.
The tiny Grarrl stepped up to the counter and looked around. "Not much in this shop, huh?"
"Hello, I am Sockoi. May I take your order?"
The tiny Grarrl looked up at her with a very confused look and asked, "Do you have any carrots?"
It was then that Sockoi got the brilliant idea to open up a carrot store just for Grarrls.
