My Beginnings
I suppose you can here wanting to know more about my past haven't you? Well, I guess it would only be fair to tell it to you but I must warn you it's not for the faint of heart.
Before I was born my parents were excited about my arrival, as any new parents would be, and made sure all their friends knew I was coming. Little did they know, that I wouldn't be something to celebrate. On the day I was born my entire family and all their friends were gathered. My proud father, a stout fire eyrie, and doting mother, a beautiful speckled eyrie, were probably the most excited in the group. I was told later that everyone was actually betting on what color I'd be born. What they saw they didn't expect. I was born a hideous and horrible mutant. My own parents couldn't stand the sight of me and who could blame them with the way I look. Some said I was cursed by the Darkest Faerie herself and others assumed my parents did something horribly wrong and was now being punished for it. Let's just say that after I was born my parents became outcasts. My mother didn't mind, because I was her child and she loved me with all her heart, but my father despised me. His next decision was the thing that ruined my life. While my mother was sleeping one night he took me from her and as a traveling circus came through our village he sold me to them. After that day I've been labeled as a circus freak.
Circus Life
The traveling circus didn't treat my any better than my village or my father. The ring master forced a thick iron collar around my neck and every time we'd stop in a town or village he'd chain me up and charge people to see me.
They'd laugh and stare, ridicule and poke me with things. As far as every person who paid to see me knew I was a horrid beast that the ring master found deep in the haunted woods. Supposedly we fought for almost a week before he was able to capture me, and every single person bought his lies. They all saw me as a vicious monster and treated me as such, it wasn't until I came down with a bad case of The Shaky Flakys that I was shown compassion. But it didn't come from where I expected it. When the ring master found out he was upset but refused to treat me, he had said that it made me look more vicious. I refused to move when people came to see me, I'd just lay in the farthest corner and refuse to look at anyone. This made the ring master angry and when the people would leave at night he would beat me. One night when he struck me I bit him and as punishment for this he locked me up in a smaller cage and refused to let anyone see me. That little bit of course didn't bother me, I had grown to hate the people even though I hated the ring master more. My condition began to get worse, it was to the point that even if I wanted to move I couldn't. I even went as far to beg for death, but it never came. As soon as the ring master discovered I was no good to him he dumped me off in the haunted woods and never looked back. I sighed as he freed me, there was nothing more in the world that I wanted more than freedom other than death. I didn't lay there for long until someone came up to me. "Hey, are you ok?" she asked as I tried my best to look at her. Aren't you afraid of me human?" I asked as I attempted to stand but only made it halfway up. She went to my side to help me up. No why would I be? You need to get to the hospital as soon as possible." she said as I blacked out.
Family?
When I woke I was laid out on a couch and the girl from before was gently rubbing some kind of cream on my skin. "What are you doing?" I asked as I tried to sit up, but she held me down.
I'm treating your Shaky Flakys, so hold still." she said kindly. I gave her a confused look. "Why are you doing this for me? I'm only a monster. No, you're not." After my Shaky Flakys healed the girl, whose name is Darkness, said I was free to go or I could stay with her and since I had no where else to go I stayed. I was accepted into her big family without a second thought, Darkness would coddle me anytime she thought she saw Shaky Flakys coming back. I guess i liked it though, after all she is the second being to show me any type of kindness. |
