Grarrl Keno
Do you want a shiny trophie
Or a Random avvie
Then have a look on my guide
What do you say, "why does a luck game need a guide?"
Well if you dont know the rules and the odds you will have less percentage of winning, so lets get an
inside look to KENO.
KENO is a "casino game" which means the more you Play the MORE YOU WILL LOSE, there is no way to win money
(sorry NPS i mean) in the long run by playing KENO so if you are looking for a guide that will help you get lots
of NPs you have to go to some guide about stocks or restockers cause i will tell you 1 thing about KENO: as soon
as you start playing KENO, YOU ALREADY HAVE LOST. Its proven mathematically and there is nothing you can do
against it.
Are you still with me? Good! So lets move on shall we?
RULES:
1) Welcome to Grarrl Keno! Choose from two to ten eggs on the board. The Grarrl will roar, and ten eggs
will hatch into baby Grarrls. If any of the numbers you chose match the eggs that hatch, you could be in for a
big prize!!!
The prize that you win will be displayed in the Prize Board below. You have to match a certain number of
eggs to win. For instance, if you choose 8 numbers, 4 of them must match for you to win.
2) The maximum amount you can bet on one game is xxx NP, which is 50 plus 2 for every day you have been
playing Neopets (xxx).
This is the text you can see when you visit the Keno page the xxx will be different depending on the days
you play on neopets.

What does this table say you ask? Well First i have to explain a bit.
The 1st Column is named num Selected, this is the ammount of numbers (eggs) you have bet on
The 2nd Column is named num Found, this is the ammount of numbers that have been drawn (the correct hatched eggs)
The 3rd Column is the percentage of this "event" coming true the formula is to complicated and there is no
reason to explain how i found these numbers
The 4th Column is the 1 diveded by the percentage and then rounded up, this represents how many times do
you have to play for this event to come true
The 5th Column is The payout, this is what TNT pays you back if you get a winning compination, this numbers
can be found when placing a bet and are fixed
The 6th Column is the so called payback or in other words the percent of your money that you will "WIN"
back.
Alternadly you can subtrack that last number from 100 and get the percent of your money that you WILL lose
Sumary table
| num Selected | pay back
| | 2 | 27,10%
| | 3 | 15%
| | 4 | 17%
| | 5 | 14%
| | 6 | 6%
| | 7 | 5%
| | 8 | 3%
| | 9 | 26,70%
| | 10 | 27,40%
|
This Table shows what percentage of your money you get back depending of how many numbers you select, and it
proves(?) that in the long run its better to play 10 numbers !!!
Note: Allthough it would need 4,76245E42 tries (thats a 47 followd by another 41 digits a very HUGE AMMOUNT
of tries indeed) to get the Jackpot, still you will have lost 72,6 % of your Nps that in plain terms is supposed
you would play 1 NP each time 3,45754E42 NPs (I belive that this amount is more that if all Nps every single
player EVER had are added together)
TIPS
1) If you want to lose the less and get a score that will enter the high score tables you will need to play
4 numbers
This way you will OLNY lose 83% of your NPs, if you bid 1,000 Nps each time you are "guaranteed" to get
back 170 Nps back in average for every game in the long run. So if you play 10 times you will be getting back
10*170=1,700 Nps (and you will have lost 8,300 NpS)
Also getting all 4 has a 80 times MULTIPLIER, for the 1,000 it is a 80K a score that cant be easilly beaten
even in the end of any month and a alltime hall of famer if you ask me.
2) If you are going just for the avvie try 10 numbers. Getting 4 out of 10 is a 1 out of 60 chance so it
will take 60 bets (of 1 NP of course) on average to get the avvie.
The 10 numbers have the best chance of getting 4 numbers correct and i would strongly disadvice trying to
get 4 out of 4 if you are aiming for the avvie just because it has a bigger multiplier. YOU CANNOT HIT TO
BIRDIES WITH ONE BULLET. Get the avvie first, then aim for the trophie.
The Table of Chance
This time I will rearrange the table a bit for you, And i will put the Most propable event on TOP
| Num selected | Num Found | payout | once every x Times
| | 9 | 0 | 1 | 4
| | ... | ... | ... | ...
| | 3 | 2 | 3 | 26
| | ... | ... | ... | ...
| | 2 | 2 | 5 | 70
| | ... | ... | ... | ...
| | 6 | 4 | 8 | 595
| | 3 | 3 | 25 | 685
| | ... | ... | ... | ...
| | 10 | 6 | 30 | 9091
| | 4 | 4 | 80 | 10000
| | ... | ... | ... | ...
| | 5 | 5 | 600 | 10000
| | ... | ... | ... | ...
| | 6 | 6 | 1500 | 1430615
| | ... | ... | ... | ...
| | 7 | 7 | 5000 | 26455026
| | ... | ... | ... | ...
|
Now this table shows what I Call the Chances, Having looked at the FIXED ODDS from the 1st table here is a
table in acseding order that shows what bet is "easier" (or more probable) to get it right.
The "..." mean that there are other bets that have a lower chance that the ones before so we wont bother
with them.
Leading the race is this table we will find the bet of finding 0 out of 9! If you thinking 0 thats easy, thing
again you have a chance a little better than 1 out of 4 and it "only" pays 1 time your money.
In the Second place We will find my favourite bet 3 Numbers. Getting "just" 2 right Triples the money you bet.
TIPS SECTION II
Now back to the trophies: What is The best(?) way to get in the high scores, Quickly and not by considering
the LOSS?
First of all here is a link to the High score
here
Going for the Bronse trophie needs (on the day of re-writting 1/1/2007) a score of at least 3,192 (Gold was at 11,210)
Now divide that score with you maximum. My maximun was on the day of writting 1,426 wich gives a 2,2.
Ok now you have a result of your division. We will call it MM (or minimum multiplier)
What I need now is at least a multiplier (or pay out) of 2,2 with my maximum to get myself the trophie.
I check the last table what payout grater 2,2 has the best odds?
In my case its 2 out of 3 numbers which
pays out 3 times your money and has a 1 out of 26 chances
Part two is to recalculate the betting ammount
Since 3 is my "new" multiplier and i need 3,192 to get the trophie i divide now 3,193 with 3 to get 1065 Nps (round it UP and add 1 if its allready round) and thats how many Nps per Roar (or try) im going to bet.
NOTE: Actually i bet my Maximum hoping to get a 3 out of 3 but i only won 2 out of 3 (or 4,278 NPs) on my 10th
try and i got on the 10th place.
UPDATE
Going now for the Silver trophie needs (on the day of re-writting 2/1/2007) a score of at least 6,696 (Gold was at 13,500)
Now divide that score with you maximum (my maximun is again 1,426) wich gives a 4,7.
Ok now you have a result of your division. We will call it MM (or minimum multiplier)
Again i need at least a multiplier (or pay out) of 4,7 with my maximum to get myself the Silver trophie.
I check the last table what payout grater 4,7 has the best odds?
In my case its 2 out of 2 numbers which
pays out 5 times your money and has a 1 out of 70 chances
Since im a Gambeler I went to the next row which is 4 out of 6 with a multiplier of 8!. (and a chance 1 in 595)
Part two would be to recalculate the betting ammount
Since 8 is my "new" multiplier and i need 6,696 to get the Silver trophie i divide now 6,696 with 8 to get 837 Nps (round it UP and add 1 if its allready round) and thats how many Nps per Roar i should bet.
NOTE: since I had to wait 23 hours for the trophies to be re-awarded I decided to bet my Maximum. I Got 4 out of six correct on my 2nd try! And a score of 11,408 place 4 (i wish my maximum would be graeter but i can wait till next month for the golden trophie)
Conclusion:
Dont Play more than you can afford
The older your account is the better since you can bet more
The sooner you start in the month the better since high scores are lower
Dont rush , time is on your side. If you dont get the trophie today try again tommorow.
These number dont guarantee you victory they only show you your ODDS, like every luck game not everybody
can win
Dont Play more than you can afford
